Well let's hope not since over 90% of the bikes being made have them. I would think not since most modern USD systems have more travel, which means it's harder to bottom them out. Seals get blown when you over use your suspension and over-compress them putting too much pressure on your seals. I bottomed out my stock shocks all the time. I haven't bottomed out my new ones once yet and I'm riding a lot harder and faster. At this point, not a drop of ail leaking.
