If you're planning on teaching English in Europe, Africa and Middle East you should look into the TEFL qualification. Got a buddy that's been travelling for the last 12 or 13 yrs on that one qualification.
Thanks. I'm definitely going to get my TEFL or TESL. We met a couple who were teaching English in Prague when we met up there in 2006 & they also recommended that.

To Deuce, unfortunately we'll miss the 2010 Olympics. We hope to be there the 2010/11 winter. First we have to get a Canadian Holliday Visa to work there. As long as we work for Whistler resort itself they have their own housing. Little two bedroom shared condos with communal kitchen & living room. Hopefully we'll have cool flatmates from some exotic locale. ;)

If we can get that squared away so we know we have employment the first winter we are much more likely to leave on schedule (June 2010). Not having much money because we haven't sold a house is the one big thing hanging over our heads. Fortunately we still have 15 months (14 tomorrow, ye ha!) to figure it out.
