In the UK, Yamaha was unsure how the bike would sell. In the event, the initial batch of 150 bikes sold out before they hit the showroom floor.
I've seen three out on the roads, including a camo one luggaged-up and with pillion. KTM just don't have a good rep for reliability, while others are drawn by the heritage of the bike (the old Tenere was just voted #1 by MCN readers, in a poll of budget adventure bikes, there wasn't a KTM or BMW in the Top 10).
The new Tenere isn't anywhere near as expensive as a BMW or KTM; service intervals are 6k (afaik) and it's a low insurance group.
