I agree with what ppe172 mentioned, but just to add - if you take off head cover you can see marks on camshaft "flange". Those supposed to line up with surface of the head when you align marks you see through that bolt/plug thingy on left case cover. So, if you want to check that your timing is PERFECT you can do it this way, if you want to be sure you just OK you can check through inspection/valve clearance adjustment opnings in head cover. If you will take head cover off you will have to use sealant to put it back (standard way for DR) and re-adjust valve clearances.
Still, I'd check fuelling and electrics first. It's way too easy even for wohever did it in the past to set valve timing right, but it is way more tricky to ensure they did not mess up electrics or that fuelling is correct.
