If you want to go cheap, a pillion type 1 will work. The dualsport size will fit more of the seat surface. I have anti monkey butt powder in stock too. Barb
The pads arrived yesterday , heaven mate, Drew arrives here on Thursday, Milford Sound Friday, Sat we are riding thru the Catlins to Papatowai to stay with a German BMW rider, Sun a track day at Invervegas the around the south coast and home. It rained for 2 days here, just nice today, my mates rang and were going for a ride into Milford but I couldnt go as on call for work. Work is flat out, cant wait to get away to Aust in April and then D2D. Keep that DR shiney and upright. Cheers Toddy
I bought my charcoal pad for my KLR A-15 last summer and it is a great upgrade to the stock seat and is especially nice at night as a pillow pad. I pull it off at my campsite when off road riding and slip it on for the ride home. My only complaint is with the elastic straps as they are getting stretch marks. I have replaced the quick release elastic strap with one made of strap webbing and it resists the movement I was experiencing with the elastic. The front piece is sewn in and while it still is doing the job I'm not sure how long it will last. I think I read that Barb will retrofit with a new elastic but I'm having separation anxiety just thinking of sending it away.
If you send it, I turn it around next day- remember, absence makes the heart grow fonder. The new elastic is awesome. Thanks, Barb
The DR has no problem staying upright, shiney is another story. That little bike flat out runs! 95 MPH all day long, it really loves to be flogged. Really good in the twisties too. I put Dunlop 607's on it. I can't imagine jetting the carb for more pep. Stock gearing is a little tall for off road but good for covering distance. The last day I folded my buttpad in half and put it in a garbage bag because of rain-it was pouring and I couldn't make the last 500 without it. Barb
I thought you had gone into hibernation mate. Good to here every thing is goin OK. Drew stayed 3 nights , going out of the Homer Tunnel to those rock faces covered in waterfalls blew him away. I rode southern scenic route with him for 2 days , I think he is up at golden bay now, sold my yellow VTR on Sat and my new DR650 arrives 2morrow, I have run out of sealed roads here. Had a hard nite last nite with a german 1150gs rider. this arvo a royal enfield arrived with a lost, cute english lady. She bought the bike in India and traveled Asia, Aust, and now NZ. Talked her into staying in the shaggy shed for the night. When do you finish the mexico trip. We are off to superbikes in Aust April. Finish work end April. Cheers Toddy
Toddy, I've been in Mexico not hibernation. No time to stop for internet while riding-did about 4K. You will love that DR in NZ. Take it across from the Key to the lake and then ferry to Qtown. Did you get a new one or used? I left this one in Phoenix so it's easier to pick up than in Havasu. I did my own mod on the saddle and put a larger tank on it too. Great machine. Barb
Barb I'm doing my part to keep the wolf away from your door (especially with all those sheep running around...). I just ordered mine. Thank you for the discount! John
Order on the books. Nice website, and the checkout procedure works very well.Looking forward to the fuzz.
Large or Medium for an R1100R? Chart says either Too bad Twilight color is only for full pelt ...would look sweeet with my silver / grey.
The size depends on how big your butt is. The large gives some extra width and thigh comfort. I can cut a twilight for you no problem, but is is long hair which boosts you up in the saddle. Let me know. Thanks, Barb
I just got my seat covers today. They are terrific! Thanks for the super fast service, and for the discount. A very nice product. John
I took a ride Friday. 200 miles of rain and 360 miles of good weather. I have been riding for over 25 years and I love this pad. I am gonna add a piece of velcro to the front cuz when i stand it blows back.
I rode with the new butt pad yesterday (first dry day here in months). It's fantastic. It not only makes it easier to ride all morning, it raises me up a bit and takes some of the strain off my (bent) legs. I'm thinking on ways to alter it for quick change, as I park in the City and it will tempt thieves.
