Soooo, is there any other adv riders in the Tri-City area? I see spokane, walla walla and tons of west siders, post on here, but not too many if any from the tricity area. I see a few other 1200 gsa's and several v-stroms around here...any of ya chase dirt?
I do sometimes. Used to have a KTM 640A but replaced it with 2 bikes since I was riding a lot of pavement. I tell myself the Weestrom is a road bike but can't seem to stay off gravel roads. Some of the local DS riders hang out at pnwds.com as well. They tend towards dual sport but there are a few with twins on there as well.
I used to ride mx and desert a lot around here, some up in the trees, when I was younger. I picked up my gsa last year and started getting back to the dirt more. Then in february I messed up my shoulder, had surgery in July and just got back to riding in late sept. My bike is really my only transportation right now, so I get miles in, just want to do more offroad. I got to take it easy for a bit as I only have about 30% strength in my shoulder at this point. As it gets stronger I plan to get more aggressive with what I try to do offroad. I'll keep an eye out for ya, yellow bikes are hard to miss. My gsa is yellow as well, with Reverend Horton Heat and Hank 3 stickers on the panniers. Feel free to throw rocks at me in passing.
In Yakistan and just getting back into riding. Always trying to be up in the woods, but it would be nice to know more than the couple people I ride with in this area.
I am over here in Sunnyside. I don't do a lot of dirt, I stick to forest service roads and jeep roads. I went from a KLR 650 to a 650 Vstrom and the Vstrom is just to much work in the heavy dirt stuff. dhally did you paint your bike I thought it was black?
No, I've never had a black bike. I think the only time we crossed trails was at Hell's Canyon. This year I was riding a WR250R - it does have some dark graphics on the tank. In past years I was riding a 640Adv.
Must be another Tri Cities rider i am thinking about than. He was at Enterprise this year, had a battery fail on his Strom.
CaptainAtilla (sp?) he rides a black VStrom, and resides in Richland WA I think? Not certain about HC this year we were there for a very short time Sat. Eve.
Not 'zackly Tricities, but I'm a few miles west of Wenatchee. PM me if you're headed this way. 1911fan
There's a few of us around it looks like. As my shoulder recovers and gets stronger I plan on spending more and more of my riding time off road. I don't know anyone personally that spends any time riding off road so I'm branching out and looking to meet some folk that do. I'm gonna try to keep an eye on the forums on here and start participating in the open rides that ya'll sometimes offer. Looking forward to meeting some of ya's somewhere down the road, thanks for all the replys.
Haven't been riding much, been busy working on the house. Since I've traded all my European bikes for Jap ones this is no longer needed. The area under the center stand is reinforced and it held up the 640 Adventure great. Haven't tried the WeeStrom. Ramp and tie-downs not included, but does come complete with KTM metal-flake undercoat and full synthetic oil stain finish. Come get it and I'll treat you to eggnog w/Crown Royal. Business end: That's it in the background And just to prove it was actually used for bike maintenance:
