I'll be doing a quick run around the Huachuacas this morning around 10 or so to try out my new seat. Going West Gate > Parker Lake > Montezuma Pass > Sierra Vista. If you feel like going just meet me at the Main Gate around 1000-1030 or replay here since I'll check it again before I leave.

Didn't see this or I'd have joined you. Did a nice ride today up and around Dragoon and north on to the Hereford Ranch and came out on Cascabel Rd. I'm finding all sorts of new places out here but some are not very well suited for heavier bikes.

Rode 61 from Nogales to Sierra Vista today over Montezuma - my first trip over. It appeared to be recently graded. Taking out the washboards is great but did they have to leave the ball bearings all over the road :eek1.

The ball bearing trolls live near the roads out there. The night after its graded they go out and sprinkle them all over.

im going to be out at desert daze friday morning and see what everyone is doing for the ride that day. If there is anyone else going near that time i'd be happy to meet and ride out.
Anyone have any suggestions on some of the rides posted on the website? I don't think i've done any of them except chiricahuas, border road, and some of the catalinas. Im thinking since I am staying in dragoon friday and saturday I would like to hit some of the trails to the north.

took the wifey to bisbee breakfast club this morning, food was ok(not as good as I remember) but dang was it busy. Any good ideas on rides to nearby breakfast/lunch spots to go to? Im definately thinking canelas out in sonoita.
She also seconded the vote for a new seat on the Bandit. She also voted for warmer weather and less wind.
Windshield should be in tomorrow. Got a handlebar from Lightfighter that looks like it will fit. Unfortunately it really looks like i'll need two new brake lines. Anyone have suggestions on a inexpensive place to get them? I'm not in the mood or cashflow to go with steel lines.

Go to Jackson Cabin if you haven't been before. Great riding, spectacular views - some of the best I've seen out here. Difficulty level is about the same as what we rode last Thursday.

lol... I passed the grader on my Sunday ride near the pass and to be honest, I much rather take the washboards than driving in the crap that he left behind again. It was like a 6 inch mixture of sand, mud, random up rooted large rocks, and loose gravel. Fortunately for me it looked like he had just gotten started so I only had to endure it for a couple of miles. I came across a Brit who said he was out doing his warm-up hike for the next morning when he was going to start his walk to Utah. I think I'll stick to something mechanical for the time being... Each to their own I guess.

Yep... I never rode up there and managed to find my way down to the large wash. It was one of those "well I have about 15 miles worth of gas before I have to make the decision to keep going or turn around so I have enough to make it back" deals. Decided to go for it and it worked out. Took the right fork just after the gate, then a left a mile or so after the corral and then through two gates and down into the large wash that connects with Cascabel Rd.

Hi I'm Victor, new to the forum from Sierra Vista, it took my a couple of minutes to find out what you were talking about, but a couple of google searches later I found out about the desert daze event, and I would like to join you friday morning on your way up there if that's cool with you.

victor, your welcome to caravan up with me friday(I am 90% certain I will have to trailer it). If not, I think middlemarch is a good route. If you want to take dirt up there I will be expecting to arrive there around 9-10 and then off to Jackson Cabin.

Hello, Sorry I don't know how else to do this. Any old riders in SV? Do you know Jeff the old guy that lives not far off the post? He always has a yard full of motorcycles, did he die? His phone has been disconnected.<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/ZD1cTc0lPDOs096QF3NZ-MuWTBJaXNWyuzKG0ozQqEk?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-f_SCI04Wnx0/T0LCxS_CMqI/AAAAAAAAESE/vnCt99QQPKA/s800/DSC03227.JPG" height="600" width="800" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/stonemanrip/HondaCB450?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCObvxd2o1Pb2jQE&feat=embedwebsite">Honda CB450</a></td></tr></table>

Jeff was one of Sierra Vista's true motorcycle enthusiast. RIP He was a little bit on the crumby side, but he knew his motorcycle stuff. I'll bet someone picked his yard clean like a chicken bone. Jeff would tell you bad genetics got him. Bye Jeff. Thanks for the reply http://youtu.be/A998AWwVhos

Yeah... it looks like no desert daze. Not only do I not have a small bike yet, the cow decided to eat the rubber intake manifolds. And they are on back order.:dog
