Q is being served on the DD porch between 5.30 and 6.00, then the porch is being given over to the musical entertainment.

So, we will need to be there promptly so as to get Q.

I'll post a suggested rendezvous point and time. Otherwise, we can always just meet up there, if'n yer feel like going.

Krap, my boss just swung by, and I am needed in a meeting on thursday to go over a new (and major) project, which means there is a pretty strong chance I won't be going to DD this thursday. :bluduh

Stay tooned, I may have to leave it until the last minute to decide a go or no go.

I have heard a lot of good reports on PR3s, I might try those on the ZX11 when it's tyre change time.

Givi makes quality luggage. I have had my Givis for 18 years, and even the airline baggage handlers couldn't break them.

Last night on a 4 lane road I was passing a car on the left by about +3mph while in a 45mph zone.
By the time I was past the driver side mirror the car swerves into my lane and I used all 64hp the V has.
Car straightens back out I fall back to look at the driver.
Young girl on facebook flipping through photos, fucking full on inspecting them with thought. Not looking away from the phone for at least 10sec. at a time!
I freak out, honk my horn. She looks up at the road (never looking at me but hears me) for 2sec. then starts fricken flipping through photos again!!!
I honk about 8 more times she just keeps flipping through the photos not looking at the road again for 10sec. at a time doing 40mph.
At about 10 honks she gets mad throws the phone down and looks dead straight.
    I wish I got her plate#’s
I94 was shut down to one lane yesterday on my way home from work. Once passing the cop cars, a sky blue Harley was laying in the road and shit scattered near by.
After passing that bike crash, people were going 80mph past me in a 60mph zone. They were zipping through cars cutting me off within arms length ahead and behind me!

Really thinking about not commuting as much on the bike, I don’t need another ass wrecking my life again or even worse ending it!

Sorry rant over, needed to get it out…

It is a tough one for sure, not sure what advice to offer on it. A commute like yours is fraught with hazards.

One thing I guess - don't creep past cars. See if you can get a feel for what the driver is doing (look in the rear window - are they looking up or down? Phone to ear etc), when the way is clear pass quickly. Never sit along side another vehicle if you can help it.

Also - the temptation is great to parp the horn at offending cell phone using drivers, but be careful. They sometimes get woken up so drastically that they will swerve wildly. Maybe away from you, maybe not.

I had to parp a driver last year, who started drifting into my lane (4 lane highway) while I was passing (he was busy yacking on his phone) and he swerved so badly he went right off the road and nearly lost control of his car and crashed it into the ditch.

I kinda wish he had, since as it happens he went away from me.

Gravy is handing out the peace and love advice?

    :huh

That's it. The world has come to an end. It's been fun and all, but I'm going to go and hole up in my bunker and wait to be over run by zombies.

Not so much peace and love just a reality check that it's you the rider who is responsible for your own safety.

Trying to rely on another to do the right thing is not a good approach to our roadways.

You've got drunk driver, drugged out driver, angry drivers, sleepy drivers, new drivers, distracted drivers---you get the idea.

My advice? You see something like that - you get away from it. Make not haste :lol3
