Me and my buddy Dingweeds just spent a couple weeks out West and
frankly---went places only an unladen dirt bike should have went a few times.
But we survived and I hope stronger and smarter for it :huh:huh

A few things we did as a sample.

Rode up on top of a Volcano

We rode with Sam Correro and his buddy John Clements for a couple days scouting new TAT routes.

    Sams a good leader

    Got rained on a bit

Scotts bike got mauled by mama bear and 3 cubs at a motel in Lake City, Colorado
There is a bear on top of Scotts knocked down bike in this picture---which didn't come out.
You got to hear that story.

Found a bunch of old townsites and gold mines.

    Crossed a hundred creeks

Rode down black bear pass on fully loaded bikes-----we knew better--but did it anyway.

Camped a lot---where we were attacked again.

Rode up this trail-------cause I saw this picture on here and just had to go there----it was a 45 minute wide open in first gear constant climb
that I thought was never going to end--only to end up on top of a mesa in impassable mud.

Most everybody was so nice to us----but we did run into 3 horses asses.

Why am I riding Scotts bike ??? Why do I have a tire and other bike parts in my saddlebags ??
And why do I have a shit eating grin on my face ???

Yeh---we got into Utah a bit.

Schofield Pass----scarier than Black Bear it was.

    Got rained on some more

One day we crossed this bridge over the Rio Grande in the middle of the New Mexico Desert.
A few days before we were at the head waters of the Rio Grande.

Scott saw about 100 elk all together on his way home.

And we get free beers in Salida, Colorado at the Circle R motel (the official TAT Motel) after a hard days ride.
    Good friends--if you can't tell.
That cut on Scotts leg isn't from the bear-----he got mauled by a motel chair.:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Details to come---I rode my bicycle 60 miles today and am a tired puppy.

But here's is a trailer video of our ride for now.

Are you related to that Dingleweeds guy :D:D

    Hey Brian--------more tomorrow.

We passed that campsite and was astounded---went down the trail a bit and decided we'd name that campsite.

    "Cute As A Bugs Ear"

I'm sure they were disappointed when they found out we were 2 old farts.

    Good morning all---and thanks Tony.

The music on that video was recorded by me in my office. I've been a guitar player all my life and have been trying to play the lead to the song "Sultans Of Swing" for 15 years. When I finally got it pretty close (it's a very difficult song to play) I fired up my recording console and wrote a few words and made that recording-------------I can't sing-------------at all.

So I kind of talked my way thru the words I had written---wished I had made it longer and may someday.

Anyway I played all the instruments except the drums-------which was a machine. The guitar is a vintage Fender Stratocastor played thru a vintage Fender 40 watt tube Blues Deluxe amp. I am a guitar player---but not a bass player either------but fumbled thru this song on my wife's old headless bass that hadn't been out of the closet in years.

    My apologize to Mark Knopfler.
