I'm about to have a little looksie at schmidts driveshaft but if everything is looking good I've booked a day off next Sat (24th Nov) to have a look down at the Denniston. Those in the know - do we have to call anyone to get thru from the iron bridge or is it open? If anyone feels like a cruise down there let me know. If the river looks dodgy I'll come out & go from the other side. I've checked out joshs info looks good.
Was just logging on here to see if anyone wanted to go this Sunday, but I can wait till next Saturday, so count me in. Everytime I have gone through its open, so just rock on up. Rivers looked pretty low from the road coming back from CHCH on Wednesday.
River levels must have changed a bit since the floods around the long weekend. Fairly dramatic high levels then. I'm hoping to get a chance to ride the Mackley over summer some time. Can only do Sundays at the moment.
FYI 24th is Sunday, Long range weather foreskin for Saturday = rain, Sunday =fine in Westport. Rain in Buller a few days prior.
Shall we put it on hold till the end of the week till we can see what the river is like. If it is good I will go but if the river is too high I may come in from the other side. I haven't been thru there yet but always wanted to see it.
Molesworth was bloody good, went from blenheim end and out over Lewis pass then over maruia saddle(lovely) and Matikatikatikati. Was gonna do Porika, but got a puncture just out of Murch so fixed that and roaded home. Lots of cattle along the entire Molesworth hiding behind bushes ready to pounce. Be warned.
i'm out for the weekend - bike still in bits waiting for parts. Sounds like a good trip thru Molesworth. Lewis Pass is actually pretty cool on the bike - bit of a drag in the car tho.
This weekend is pretty much the last one I can plan until february. If I could replace humans with robots I would. will just have to grab rides when I can. Ass
Ok, where were you thinking? I'll be wearing 705's on the Africa Twin and no crash bars. I'll be heading for home at some stage so somewhere out this way might work?
one of my favorite places, maybe we could have a look at the Mungatapu on the way through. I will text you tomorrow, I have to nip in and try for a wof in the morning.
Will be having a late lunch at the Wholemeal cafe in Takaka if anyone wants to join us for a road ride.
