Love that bike. Is it fuel injected or carb'd?

I wanted this bike even before I had my motorcycle license.
It was mine for little over 3 years and 8000+ miles. She was querky, tempermental, but oh so beautiful..

Another shot of my '96 Carb Sport, taken back in 2002... Young Skywalker, and I, had just finished running Hwy 341 in North Arkansas... A 400-mile Sunday ride for us... It was a good day !!!

The Sport still had Dellorto carbs, stock headpipes, Marsee crossover and Supertrapp megaphones...

I do not have a moto guzzi but have always loved them since I was a little kid of about ten years old. my sister had a boyfriend that had a MK11 LeMans that he rode and he used to go to laguna seca to watch Kenny Robert's race and would come home and tell me about it. I used to watch him every morning start that bike up and ride away. I loved the sound it made. I would tell myself I would ride motorcycles one day and that red guzzi is the reason I ride today and I even saw king kenny's last race at laguna. anyway yesterday I saw a picture of a 79 V50 for sale with 20K miles for 3K and I just might buy it. any suggestions?:D

A V50 is not nearly the same thing as a MkII Le Mans. But if it strikes yer fancy, that doesn't matter. :D

progress on my LM1000 roadster is slow, as there's a lot of bullshit he POs did to straighten out.

This includes new triple clamps, steering bearings, new front fender mount, adapted front axle, brakes and -lines, new front dampers & oil etc.

However, here's a few details from the last weeks:

carbs cleaned and reassembled, I plan to use the plastic adapters seen on the carbs to install a 10cm aluminum tube to attach the K&N pods to. This should help with low-end torque.

polished triple clamp, new aluminum dashboard with original speedo&tach and aftermarket oiltemp. gauge. Lights should come from a V7
    [IMG]

carbon fairing held up for measuring. this also needs to be sanded, fillered and painted. I'm planning now to do the tank in black, as well as the lower engine fairing. The sidecovers will be brushed or polished 1mm aluminum.

one of the countless details noone will ever notice: fender mounts, brushed ally

planned deadline was march 1st, but as it's still snowing here it's no problem. I still have to do the sidecovers, brakelines, seatcover, front electrics (d'oh!) and the final tune-up. wish me luck.

It's been a real fun project. It was barn fresh, had been
stored for about 15 or so years and had been through a
small fire when I got it.

It's a bit further along now - I can actually start the
engine now, but still need to finish some small things
    like brakes, headlight.

Damn, please don't let this thread be over. I'm getting high looking at all these Guzzis. I pine for my Black California EV, about to be sold, which I would show you pictures of if I could make up my mind about a digital camera...but thats another thread.
