What have you done to your GS or GS Adventure today?

Sorry to be negative, but I don't think those are well thought out at a wide load of 46 1/2" !!. That's dangerous and I made the same mistake myself (with the exact same bike and Shine Yellow color )and switched to Micatech at 38 ". Jesse bags are also well designed in that department. When you get your first close call, you may agree with me. If you think you're clear and your rear bags hit something, it's gonna hurt. Nice bags though.

The weather's crap here today, so I've spent a couple of hours in the garage getting to know my new LC GS

We all have different needs and riding styles. Obviously those bags met his. No need to crap in the man's Cheerios...

Installed some Skene rear LED lights...

Installed new Dispatch 1WIRELESS POWER DISTRIBUTION AND CONTROL system on my GS and RT (RT probably doesn't qualify for this thread, though).

Here's my little edition...
I took a compass, a little Dremel tool work and mounted it to my brake reservoir cap with some double sided tape. One of the handiest little mods I've come up with.

I'm stealin' that idea. I had an automotive ball compass mounted to the windscreen bar for a while until I did some other stuff that crowded it out. I was never that happy with it and this mounting is way cooler. I usually put my old boy scout compass in my tank bag map pouch.

When looking for one...make sure the bottom is "solid"...some spin when you are dialing it around. I believe I bought a Brunton that did that....

those are a Neoprene wrap around the regular grips. I can't remember what they were called. It's a square of textured neoprene, that wraps around and velcros on. Good for eliminating vibrations.

I got to ride to work today. Finally after a long winter in Michigan.

Wife rode her R1200 with the SW Motech bars and H&B bags on it for 5 years which were wider. Never had a close call. Yes, they are a couple of inches wider than the BMW Vario bags, but not by much (when the Varios were fully expanded).

Not sure I agree with you that they weren't well thought out, they do have a new version that has a cutout for the exhaust, that helps pull them in a bit.

We'll just have to see after riding with them for a bit if I feel they are too wide (heck I thought the vario bags were too wide after coming off the Ulysses with the Buell branded H&B bags ... with the underneath exhaust, the bags were mounted snug against the frame).
