We are about to be ready to get out of Huatulco as soon as the sun comes out(in 10 month I have never ridden without daylight)
I want to get to La Ventosa as early as possible, before the wind gets to strong. The last time I was there(by car), I've seen a truck being turned over by the wind.
Looking forward to San Cristobal and our favorite taco place there, Cochinita Pibil :freaky

Where have you been staying while at Tangolunda Bay? I was there about 16 years ago and we stayed at a Club Med. it has since been updated, upgraded and is now Resort Barcelo. Beautiful beach and very nice pool on that property.

Hey Vince , you are so right !! If my boys wouldn't be flying in for Christmas, my bike would be pointed in a different direction !!!
It's a scary feeling :eek1:eek1:eek1 , but I know, it's only going to be a short break from our journey . So better hurry up and come down soon before we will be gone again :freaky

One of the places around Oaxaca that I always like to go back to is the Casa de Cultura de San Agustin Etla, an old textil factory transformed into a cultural center . Always something going on there , expositions,workshops,concerts,... and always a never ending source for more pictures

By now everybody knows that I'm a mountain boy and not to crazy about the beach and hot climate, especially not if wearing all my riding gear . But Luisa loves the beach, so we decided to heat some of Oaxacas beaches . Our first stop would be San Agustinillo. The ride down there , going through San Jose del Pacifico is amazing, it also brought some memories back from the last time I did this road, over 30 years ago .

Here some pics from the sunrise on the beach of San Agustinillo

We are at the waterfalls El Chiflon, close to Comitan. It is hard to get any closer to Guatemala without crossing the border.
Our last night in Mexico...many strange and powerful feelings...
We are both very emotional today,a cocktail of feelings...
We are very thankful and conscious about how lucky we are
    I better shut up now

    Hola Julio,

Thanks to your excellent advice I was cranking and banking up and down these all day not far across the border from you:

Crisp mountain air, pine forests, blue skies, friendly locals, volcanoes in the distance.

Guatemala doesn't seem so bad to me.

    Kindest regards,
    John Downs

    Hola John,
Great o see you made it out to San Marcos, I love it out there.
And yes, Guatemala us not bad at all, it's the getting back part...
If you still in the area, go to Todosantos above Huehuetenango; great mountains.
We will be in the area for a couple of days
Now taking off for the border

Breakfast in Comitan, WiFi and time for another overdue post :D

From San Agustinillo we went to Huatulco , another place I haven’t been to in over 30 years . What a shock !!!!! where we used to sleep in our sleepingbags right on the empty beach of Tangolunda, there is now one resort next to the other . I am so happy to have had the chance to see these places, before mankind screwed them up, big time .

Anyway, the sunrise is Tangolunda are still as beautifull as ever, even if this time I saw them from my hotelroom in the 4th floor and not from my sleepingbag on the beach

After reading this it is sinking in for me as well!! For the past 10 months I've followed you either on ADV or on my Harley :D. This adventure has reduced my work productivity greatly because I just sit and daydream while looking at your pictures. So.... I think your hike with your sons should just be another chapter of your RR then just carry on after that with more pictures of my future destinations! :D

It's been a great ride for me!! :clap:clap

Ok back to work now.

Huehuetenango is my favorite name for a city!

Yeah I know...back to work now. :rofl
