With the GSA windshield, does anyone with TT handguards know if they contact the screen at full steering lock? Just wondering. Cheers
6000Km review I did 6K Km since I bought the new F800GSA. Positives: Seat is damn comfortable this time Fuel range is good. I get the reserve light after 500+ Km. (Fuel consumption is approx 4.5 - 4.7% litre/100km) Looks good :) Negatives: I want more power for road, at least extra 15HP. Off-road is fine. They nailed the windshield, they made-it so well -> nothing comes on the rider. When is 30+ Celsius outside (for USA: Damn hot), I am turning in a slow-cooking-meal. No wind comes on my chest => no ventilation 5000rpm gives a funny resonation sound from plastics. Have to use ear-plugs Snowy - 20140103-2.jpg by Baiazid, on Flickr
Just bought yesterday and will take delivery in a few days. Really looking forward to putting in some miles on/off road. Now it will no longer be necessary to put in 500+ mile days on the Ducati GT1000!
Aha. There are some interesting tracks all along the eastern edge of the range. I took a run through there just before Christmas. Some good river crossings when you get in far enough. A lot of the tracks haven't been cleared for a while, over grown and a lot of trees down. Leaf litter was pretty deep in places. If you go further South you can get to Bendethra Caves. I come in from the top at Snowball. Long, long descents. Steep constant grades. To get to the caves turnoff there are 8 river crossings in a return journey from the turnoff on the main trail. I took wifey down there camping. Plenty of camping space. This is part of one of the camp grounds, there are about a dozen.
Hi all, I'm getting close to being able to upgrade from my KLR and am looking at 800GSA or 800xc. Have any of you owners had any mechanical or warranty problems with your 800GSAs so far? Cheers, Pete
Dats why I went red. My other BWM F650 Funduro was red too. Had to negotiate getting the knobbies though. The red seems to ship with street tires.
I changed the sprockets to test: Original topic: http://advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=23391269&postcount=25 Feels much better with this ratio! Almost wants to do wheelies alone :) Drawback is that on highway, I have to rev-it higher, therefore fuel consumption is higher. But off road -> feeling is much better than before
I was torn between a standard F800GS and the GSA until I added the price of a better wind screen, crash bars, better seat, bla bla bla...I bought the GSA for that reason. Dealer let a buddy and I test ride and we were hooked. I've ridden all kinds of bikes and this is by far my favorite. This bike is like a Jeep, I can do almost anything with it. I can't believe I didn't get into these bikes years ago.
I just had the 600 mile break in service done and I am headed from cave creek, AZ to Austin, TX via big bend national park and the Texas hill country. So far I LOVE this bike. CONGRATS.....wise purchase!
