Hard to believe we are 17months older from that ride :cry.

I was asked recently what the feeling is like "being over the hill" :gerg my reply ....................

"You'll be surprised just how many options are available to those who search & want to "live life" :ricky . If you follow me I'll show you :D
(you'll require adequate sustenance for the journey, of course :evil ) " There's:

    Toops Hill
    Wickams Hill
    Tree Hill
    Woodgate Hill
Mt Compass Bakery for morning coffee
    Moon Hill
    Kemmiss Hill
    Yankalilla Bakery lunch
    Arthur Hill
    Callawonga Hill
    Inman Hill
    Bald Hill
    Meadows for Refreshments

Let your journey begin "Grasshopper" :webers ............................................... to be continued

    Cheers
    :beer

PS if anyone returns with "evidence" :evil before me please feel free to add

What a fabulous day in the saddle for us ... "young at heart fellas" who consider themselves not quite "over the hill" just yet. :rayof

Although some seemed to fly more than others. :lol3

But everyone was comfortable with their own style

The day started well with cool mild weather after the recent heat wave, as we headed south looking for what it feels like when you get "over the hill".:smile6

Our first visit was Mount Bold Reservoir, but sadly I couldn't persuade any takers to "ride the bridge" :dunno <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

Reality was hitting CharlieW hard ....."In my youth I would have jumped at the challenge." :wings

"Oh! ... No! ... Does this mean I'm now classed as "over the hill" like MB :cry I can't face it anymore." :rofl

    While some showed their talents

...... others just flopped them out for all to see :lol3

Unfortunately dust was a problem for the troops following & I was sure someone would have hijacked my map by now & taken the lead :deal

Just out of Yundi we found a little play ground for a few minutes fun, but there were few "High Flyers" in our midst today.

A new spring is definitely required after a big Christmas hey Con? the scraping bashplate could be heard by everyone waiting over the hill.

    <IFRAME height=720 src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7sZlrBg02S8" frameBorder=0 width=1280 allowfullscreen></IFRAME>

Smiles all round by now, despite getting little air from the big beast

    <IFRAME height=720 src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zG_s25c-ODk" frameBorder=0 width=1280 allowfullscreen></IFRAME>

After a bit of fun in the "playground", :ricky our next stop was our first essential sustagen break :evil

On Mount Terrible we came across some ham radio fanatics in "serious competition mode" ... WTF .... don't they just talk to each other :huh

Over Moon Hill & down into the Yankalilla valley with its steep, winding, roller coaster, loose gravel tracks which easily catch the unwary who get sucked in by the absolutely fantastic views :wings to the detriment of the disappearing tracks before them :p3rry

Photos from a previous ride for inticement :clap
    [IMG]

Yankalilla was the most crowded I've ever seen it, but thankfully due to my reputation , the bakery had reserved a tasty morsel or two for me & my friends. :D

After lunch we headed to the ocean vista tracks, which as like those before, are also out to catch the unwary.

A view of Kerry Stokes kilometres of coast line property he bought several years ago

When you gotta big one, you have to flaunt it :lol3

Time was running out so a bee line north home again, down steep tracks before climbing up & over more fantastic hills

Unfortunately dust continued to a be a problem with those without "The Map" :deal sorry !

To ensure "No Gasman" heals his recently tarnished reputation, he was escorted most of the way home by a "Conman" of all things :lol3

We regrouped at Meadows for much needed refreshments before departing ways.

By the smiles on everyone's faces, life isn't so bad "Over the Hill" after all :rayof

Great Ride ....... Great Company ........ Great laughs.

Can't wait for the next adventure :clap

    :beer

Thanks to Conman & BikerBill for your sweep efforts, all the cornermen & DaveP for use of his pix contributions before he departed home at Mt Compass feeling unwell, it all made for a great day :thumb

Now lets talk about toilet break etiquette on a trial ride ...............:D

We stopped for lunch at Willunga (bakery) and we are about to leave and I said to Masterbrewer (Kym) "I might need to stop for a leak first".and I asked where the toilets were.........he said look just hang on and we will stop further out of the town......then he says .all this talk I need to go as well....................Fair enough..

but I didn't realize the Kiwi's had so much culture...........as opposed to us Aussie's

    evidence..... :eek1 :D

    :lol3

So here we are lined up on a narrow dirt road just out of town...........and this huge noise erupts and this orange and black blurr......"The Sweep Rider" ................spitting, misfiring, rev limiter over the max.........valves doing an unscripted Irish jig inside the engine through at least 3 if not 4 gears roars past a stunned row of fellow dirtbikes .(some still had their penis's out......:eek1) over a narrow bridge and off clouded by a huge plume of dust.........:eek1

Con I love you ..........but you do that again and the 640 gets pushed over a cliff...........:D

onto things a bit more sedate................:D
down to the lookout and we didn't get to see this bird takeoff.....but there was some folks with remote controlled gliders catching the offshore breezes

    opps .wrong picture.....:D

    Bill didn't do it..:D

    Conman back where he belongs......:lol3

we regrouped again just out of Compass and Con and I parted soon after

I got home just in time to do a quick gear change and get into town to pick up my daughter and friend.........
just as an aside, the friend was waiting on King William st for the bus to take her to Rynella and watched as it went past without stopping ...............So I did the ring route re Blackwood to pick up the other daughter and drop one off at Rynella.

Then I get home and check the ABC news website and see this headline....

    "Motorcycle statistics prompt Hills crackdown"

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-01-11/motorcycle-statistics-prompt-crackdown/4461446

lets just say the Conman led me on a "spirited" journey home through the hills.........:D

    never trust a Conman ....................:lol3

    Lov ya dude........:D

another excellent day out with great tracks great company and the weather gods were smiling on us as well

    Thanks Kym :clap
