The sprocket is the same for the XR600R to 1990 and all the XL600 Sprocket specialists make one 5033 is the part number. I don't think the 7 spline one wears as badly as the later 14 spline version.
Thanks! nice link I looked it up RD02540 but doesn't seem to fit any of the two A / B models. Though when looking at the 20Kw mine matches the preformance But also mentioned is the "Hauptdüsen" (Main jets) with sparepart number I will check that once i get it out of winter storage. But having just bought the insulator "Vergaser Ansaugstutzen" i can see this is at least the fit for the 35kw one (16211MN9000)
Doh ... oh yes he sold it to me as a 92 model when in fact it was a 91:huh ok so model is good 32kw then i will have to check main jet thanks again I probarbly need a new jet anyways..
Well, to his defense, Germany does not go by model year but by the date the vehicle was first registered/plated for traffic. You'll find the exact date "Tag der ersten Zulassung" in the papers you hopefully got.
Whoops, never mind. They're listed as obsolete for the XR600 and XL600! I guess Honda is one step ahead of me
Hepco and Becker question. From everything I read the crash bars are less than a perfect fit when you go to put them on and require some manuvering to get them to align properly. I'm install my new set of engine bars and the right side bar has a problem hitting the right air deflector on the inside once everything is tight. Has anyone else had the same problem or do I need to just slot the holes a little more on the bars and make it work?
Hi gang! '88 NX650 in the US. I am making some repars to the mounting tabs on the front fairings and I need some help. On both front side fairings there is a mounting point that is missing. It looks like it should line up and mount to the two metal nipples that are coming off of the front side of the fuel tank. I have no idea what this mounting point is supposed to look like but I would like to recreate it. Can someone post up a picture of what it looks like? Thanks Brian
I have not test fit my guard. Been fixing body cracks and making tabs for TWO WEEKS! Slight re-forming, using washers as spacers, and slotting holes could remedy your clearance issues. McVick, I am intimate with the 1988 body! Point out which ones and could possibly cast some for you.
Thanks On your's, do you see the whit dot just behind the "vent". This spot lines up nicely with the two nipples coming off the tank on each side, one on each side. I believe something should go where the white dot is and secure to the metal nipple on the front of the fuel tank. If I am wrong, does any one know what the metal nipples ar on the front of the fuel tank? Thanks Brian
Sorry. Every parts fiche I saw said those little connector bits are obsolete. I wanted them as well. The broken point of attachment to the fairing is tiny. I am willing to go with out them. Made push connectors Filled in panels Made tabs
The metal ears on the tank are meant to have rubber grommets in them. The towers on the fairing that are slightly forward and below the duct have a teardrop shaped end, this pushes into the rubber grommet on the tank to secure the fairing. The same system is used for the sidepanels to hold them to the frame.
I took a pic of what the mounting bracket looks like. I can measure if anyone needs. <a href="http://s1261.beta.photobucket.com/user/DJ650NX/media/mms_pictur2e_zpsdc1433b2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="https://www.advrider.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/D/DJ650NX_mms_pictur2e_zpsdc1433b2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo mms_pictur2e_zpsdc1433b2.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s1261.beta.photobucket.com/user/DJ650NX/media/mms_picture-2_zps4d94ece7.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="https://www.advrider.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/D/DJ650NX_mms_picture-2_zps4d94ece7.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo mms_picture-2_zps4d94ece7.jpg"/></a>
Yes to time consuming. Not to mention stinky and plastic chips from the dremel going everywhere. Wife of 32 years puts up with it. 17 places needed attention and the rear fender has not been touched. That PlastiFix REALLY WORKS. Long term will tell how well. It has been slow and tedious, but I came home for lunch today to find a package from MMOTOPARTS. Needless to say my enthusiasm for this project got a giant boost!
I just received an email back from Sunstar about the sprocket size. This is it: HI Dave, This has turned into an interesting question actually. I’ve been researching it and it looks like this may be mis-listed in our catalog. We show our 320xx front sprocket for the NX but I’ve checked a couple of our competitors and compared the specifications and it looks like the total height, with the embossed side of the sprocket should be 10mm and our 320 is only 7.8mm. Do you have the OE part that you pulled off where we can check the measurement with a set of calipers? I’m guessing its supposed to be 10mm and ours is listed in error but would need to check against the OE part to be certain. Very nice. I was looking at this rack before I found an OE one. Still may purchase one at some point because of how much coverage it offers. His original design used an aftermarket rear fender. I'm glad to see he has incorporated the stock fender now instead. Did you get to choose the color or do you have to paint it?
