Hey, me and a friend recently decided were gonna do sturgis this year. He has an old beemer and an old honda custom bobber. I have a 2011 g650gs. Besides the fact that were not riding up there with harleys, what advice does anyone have for someone new to sturgis?

I used to live in Rapid City, and went to many a rally. Though I'm a Harley guy, I saw every make and model under the sun. You might run into the occasional hog elitist, but no more than the other way round with enduro vs. hog. The vast majority of folks are very nice and the riding around the black hills is some of the best in the country. Hit me up if you need any ideas.

    Must see:
    Rushmore
    badlands
    Deadwood
Hill City (lots of nice gravel/offroad riding in Hill City)
    Crazy Horse
    Spearfish Canyon
    Needles hwy
    Devil's Tower

You can spend all day on 385 around rapid and never see the same thing twice.

^that's right I'm going to Sturgis on a bicycle. Hahaha. I'll beat the traffic jams that way.

Why go during Sturgis? Go sometime when there's less traffic and drunks on motorcycles.:1drink

Don't go during trailer week. Go a few weeks earlier or later. The museum is great. :freaky
