craig. i am way in for round 2, bummed i missed round 1. i may end up doing valves (and water pump....) prior to then but either way i think i will be there for my bike or help out with others. doing trans-lab this summer so she will need a proper going over this fall. forks and all that other fun 15k stuff! djmase
Save a tent spot for me...I will probally need new grips by then and Peter said he has this really good glue!!!!!! Hi Peter!! It was a cold nasty wet windy ride home yesterday I think I wore down the lugs on the left side of the tires, but no spiders!
I was gonna go but somhow the radar image won me over and I did some work around the house. Didn't rain too much around here, and it seems from the photos you all got your share of rain... Getting too old to ride around in the rain for no reason. Grip glue rocks if you wanna feel sick for a few hours! Never gonna use that stuff near my face again. Today a great day and I had to fix a computer at a friend's office - Slimy Crud was probably a huge turnout. At least I get to ride to work a few times a week these days, which usually turns out to be a 100 mile loop around the hills west of Madison before I get home PS - XR is probably sold - gonna confirm in a few days, but she is probably moving to South Carolina...
:huh Come on Peter...even the Harley's were out in force yesterday!! I think I test rode just the thing for you at Petrie's in Elkhorn.... Thinking about getting one for the wife!!! They are a KTM dealer and would probally give you a good trade in for the 950!!
cjracer, Have you ever thought about buying a summer home in Santa Fe, NM. I'd love to have you as a neighbour. Anyway, anytime you are in this part of the country, don't hesitate to contact me for some hospitality. Jaome
Hi Jaome, That's very kind of you. Summers are fine in Wisconsin, it's the winters I don't mind heading south for. Any vacancy in the winter? c
I've had a few people interested in valve checks. -For those that would like to do this, you need to plan to stay over and start work on your bike Fri night. This way we will have have enough time on Sat to finish up, and Sun too if things take longer than planned. cj
Thanks for the heads up. Have a great trip and safe hunt. -Everyone that is interested in participating please post here what you'd like to do again just to make sure you're still in for the last weekend of Oct. If you need parts I can order them up for you and have them here so you don't need to worry about traveling w/ them. It also makes in easier so that I can look into what needs to be done and supplies I may need to stock up on. I am willing to offer a helpful hand and bit of knowledge I've learned working on my 950 for the past 40,000 miles, but you are responsible for work done on your bike. This gives you the most hands on learning experience. (Basically, I'm not doing the work for you.) Having some experience turning wrenches is a must, but anyone that has interest in seeing a KTM Adventure torn apart or just hanging out is welcome to come. OCT 24/24/26th Starting Fri night 4pm ish Fri night I'll do pizzas or something easy. Sat night Katie plans to cook something up, so if we have an idea of how many will be here would be great. I know weather can be iffy in WI around this time. There is plenty of tent room, but if weather really gets bad there is room to throw a sleeping bag inside the house. I also have a 2 miles test track in the back yard to try out your new add ons. Hope to meet some new and long time LC8 riders soon.
My bike is all up to snuff and on the block for sale. Think I am going to have to miss the event, sorry guys. The mortgage won't pay itself, I tried sweet talking it 20 different directions. djmase
gonna put it on the calendar - looking good right now. Valve check would be the main project, beer sampling the other.
So far there are just two: -Valve check -Facet fuel pump install still room for more to get some work done on your bike.
