I forgot, Richard Newton, who lives also in El Paso is riding over to Barranca del Cobre in March, he was there at the presentation., so see, many to ride with !
I have to check on that, but I think they going earlier than we are. I'm not sure how flexible my coworker with the date is, so we will see. Our plan was to start on the 19th of April and be back on monday the 22nd. How cold will it be in March at the Barranca del Cobre? Tom
Tom, in March it is still cold at dawn - 4 to -6 C , but soon as sun ups the temp rises, chances of snowing are still high, down in the barrancas ( canyons ) nice and warm ,20 -to 30 C asking for XX If you stick on riding only 4 days ( 19th of April back the 22 nd ), it is like us Doc´s do : feel the temp. of the patient !!
I know, it is short, but better than nothing. . I am working also on a 2 month tour through mexico. But this has to wait until next year. This in april will be the first impression and I can't wait to go. I guess I will be better of in april temperature wise.
For any of you peeps going down that don't already know, I've updated the maps for Garmin GPSs that CWC was working on to be current as of our trip last spring. See here: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=864804 It would be great to get any feedback, updated/expanded tracks, more POI's etc from you boys since I won't be making it to CC this year
I'm keeping my eye on this thread. I'm in SLC and was thinking about meandering south early next week. I've never ridden Mexico before and usually make up my plans on the fly, but Copper Canyon is my eventual goal. Hopefully I'll see some of you along the way.

I took the same entry point and routes you described on my Harley Last November. The GS wasn't ready to go when I was. Here is the link to my RR http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=843268&highlight=kansas+city+central And if you check it out you will see not all things went as planned
Last time I checked Youtube had muted my soundtrack. I hate it when that happens! Here's a link to the accompanied video: http://vimeo.com/62712738
