Nice meeting you too, I'm heading to tupelo to look at a dr650 today. I think a 650 may be what I need.

I debated on doing it several times but after a recent $400 ticket, I decided not to chance it.

Could have used you as bait today on my way to Panama City Beach, but it was too cold to speed much even on the mostly two-lane route I took.

Is anyone around here using Garmin Basecamp? Mapsource had to be removed from my computer and apparently Garmin doesn't support it anymore. They are moving everything to Basecamp. I am just about ready to go back to paper maps unless someone can give me one on one instructions on how to use Basecamp. I've viewed all the tutorial videos but still cannot make sense of it.

I have BASECAMP and ROADTRIP on my laptop. Roadtrip is the Mac only version of MapSource (or does the same thing). I used Basecamp before I found out about RoadTrip. I can help you with it... Just let me know when.

Are you using it in the Mac or Windows format?

I am using it on mac, but BaseCamp basics are the same on either platform.

Basecamp is stewpid and I hate it, but I think my understanding is the same as yours, that Mapsource is being fazed out. It's a tough titty but we all have to suck it I'm afraid. :cry

BaseCamp appears to me to be more geared towards hikers, but I made it work for what we do, but quit using it when I got RoadTrip. Still have some databases and routes in both programs databases.

Not hard to use, just different.
