Hopefully it will be a dual sport only bridge.

We're pretty lucky. Most of the bridges in this part of Texas are being replaced by concrete to support oil trucks working the Eagle Ford Shale. This one is between High Hill and Dubina.

Hey Mike, educate me-why is it called a piano bridge?

It makes a ringing noise when you drive over it.

A couple of years ago some Evil Kneivel wanna-be in a pickup tried to jump from one approach to another. The bridge was in bad shape and he literally broke it's back. TexDot did a great job saving it. After the damage they dropped a big Hackberry across the western approach and piled up sand on the eastern approach. Rman and I were about to ride around (over, whatever) the hackberry and cross the bridge when we were struck by a bout of civic pride.

This is some of the prettiest rolling country in the state. Rural... unaffected...

I try to ride the Dubina area at least once a week.

With our early spring, the bridge will be open just in time.

The big elm is leafing out and so are the possum haws. All the gold finches have flown north, although Dragon43 still has his in Arkansas. All this week lows are expected in the 60 and highs toward 80. Riding weather is here.

A good loop would be Brunes Mill connecting to Ross Prairie Church through Fayetteville, across to La Grange to get over the river and back down 155. Cross the Piano Bridge and back to High Hill. Down to Schulenberg and find something twisty back to Columbus.

We have so many old bridges, we don't get many saved. One over by ZCat North of Conway & N/W of Greenbriar might get saved. We is a holden our breatheses about it... :D

I also include St. Mary's Church Road, Anders Bottom Road and several hidden Farm to Markets...

My route is 100 miles and more, and often, I pass no one and no one passes me. That's a great day.

But don't mention these roads to anyone else...:lol3

Yea, I know that feeling of having the whole road to yourself. I was so surprised that day we passed you on Brunes Mill that I was looking back and almost ran into Rman.

Rode the route this morning... a new crop of calves greeted me with their confused look, baby lambs were looking for mama, and a Clydesdale colt looked to be all hooves.

Pastures have greened up, and wild flowers are busting out everywhere.

Stopped by the Dubina church and met a couple from WI... not WW.

She enjoyed seeing the church, and he enjoyed seeing the bridge site.

He was a retired 1st SGT in the Army Corps of Engineers.

How is the bridge? It looked pretty nice in the last photo I saw (TWT.) I may just head that way this weekend. Skip down Munke to Bohuslav to Mensik. All hoves, good description.

Yea, I'm in ST Paul today and tomorrow, but I'll be coming back tomorrow night. Still need to test the new settings on on the Go Pro? It's been two weeks so I'm ready to get the BMW out. Maybe we can make the Piano Bridge St Mary's Church loop and catch NFE for a cup of coffee somewhere.
