well im staying for 2 nights so i spose booking for 2 nights is about right its expensive but everything in Bright is expensive. You just have to try close your eyes when handing over the cash and not let it get you down. I'm going to enjoy myself and not get bogged down on how much im getting rippedĀ Should be a GREAT weekend.
Thanks for the tip on the river. I've had two bouts of "please kill me" gastro and that's two too many. Especially for the Girlie because she had to listen to it. We're staying 3 nights, home early Monday.
Hey blokes a side trip up to Mt Buffalo and have a coffee at Dingo Delll is an excellent ride . Biker friendly Cafe and a top bit of road up the mountain.
yes Bright in another language means" bend me over and do me in the rear ,without kissing me afterwards" ,possibly the dearest pizza in the world as well ,front bar meals at the alpine hotel best deal ,the curries are to die for, they have sri lanken chef, shame this weekend is the same as the supers ,possibly would have got more people, might try to head up there oh yeah bright /alpine backpackers outdoor inn ,what ever you like to call it has camping $15 a night or cabins $25 a night 0418 528 631 awsome spot, has a lot of the paraglider hang glider pilots stay there ,you meet some interesting types
I came home along the Hume Hwy and my gosh there was a lot of speed cameras, I'm pretty sure at least one got me? Why do we put up with this Orwellian nonsense?
Just got in after a 7 hour leisurely ride home from the ATFF.. Had a good time and met some great people, talked about trips and adventures past, present, and future over a few drinks. There were some great films and talks, look forward to next years ATFF.. Thx to the organisers, presenters and general lunatics that make the stories come to life for others ..
same here. Great weekend. Great movies. Great company and the Husky actually performed perfectly to my surpriseĀ Big thanks toi llamaha and PrestonPaul for joining me for the ride there and the weekend overall. Now I need to sleeeeeeeeeep
Yo...big thumbs-up from this corner as well. Absolutely brilliant, GREAT choice of venue...and who or what could ever beat a brewery being the hub of any event....and on a hot weekend? Hats off to the organizers, presenters, participants and all the silent helpers in the background....a huge thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable time. OUTSTANDING!! Where can I sign for the next one?
A car got caught 200m in front of me. Although I forgot my boots on the deck last night. They were 90% full of rain water this morning. Waterproof tested twice in 24hrs.
I hope that Rupert puts on this film festival next year, cos I'm coming' back fer more! At 65 bucks the show was a steal. Tim Cope gave outstanding presentations. And he and Ben Kozel go to prove that anyone can go on an adventure. Although it only seems that a brave few test that theory. Austin and Lois were as enthusiastic, eccentric and good-humoured as ever--love you guys. Mike
& The ride there & back superb, bit wet & foggy going whitfield -mansfield but then the sun came out,. All of you would have seen Kev & Karen's RTW Guzzi (and maybe mine next to it, slightly overshadowed) see www.guzzioverland.co.uk if you didn't They are staying with me now and I thought maybe I could put on a similar thing (but no films) as a fundraiser for them, about bikes, prep, travel & funny stories. Prove date 7th April, anyone interested ? What's a fair price ? All goes to them, cash only, no security at door, more of an honesty thing. venue TBA but will be on Mornington Peninsula
Congratulations to Austin, Rupert and Lois for the well organised event. We thought the trip down from Brisbane was well worth the effort. I was personally blown away by the story that Jon Muir presented, he is one tough human being Again thanks heaps to all involved Glen
Yeah, great weekend and well worth trip - Kev & Karen's Guzzi was just an amazing machine and everybody needs to cast their eyes over this one -It's something else to say the least, so the idea of a fund raiser to help them along their way sounds good -I'm in,keep us posted........http://d26ya5yqg8yyvs.cloudfront.net/cooltu.gif
I would echo the other correspondents - great weekend I got extra brownie points for getting SWIMBO's copies of Lois's books autographed. Pity the Moto Syberia ( polish sp ?) wasnt available in the end - but thats something to look forward to next year I stayed in Bright until Monday morning and headed back to Sydney up the Doom and in the rain until Yass , But I kept remembering back to the sunny ride south via Tumut, Jingelic and Mt Beauty - which was absolutely wizard
