Perfect timing. My Valve inspection is coming up soon.

Any links on where we can find this? Price?

Which also brings up my next question...

Anyone done a valve check/adjustment at home yet?
Will you do a write up for us with pics?

Or am I going to have to be the first one?

I thought i read somewhere that at after 5000rpm the injectors were running at pretty much full duty cycle. they felt no need to develop a unit, whats changed , whats the benefits :ear

Seems that the 100% duty cycle happens at high RPM on quick throttle opening. Which makes sense......

Regardless, read that thread, you'll see the progression of development.

Revzilla and Motorcycle Superstore are both having a sale on Power Commanders right now (right around $300 vs. DynoJet selling them for $380) and I have been talking to both of them about adding the TR650 PC-V to their websites. They both will do so as soon as their distributors have them in stock (any day now).

I ended up bending the front rim on the Terra the other night on my way home...

Hit this at 55-60mph in the dark and got a nasty pinch flat:

I went back the next day to see how big it was and took this pic. I think a truck/trailer moved the rock out from that hole to the left and it was sticking up high enough to bottom out my front suspension (and bend the rim a little).

Its not bad enough to notice with a picture, but when I spin the front wheel, you can see a wobble. When I get the time I'll take it off and measure it with calipers to see how much I'll need to bend it to get it back to normal.

The bike still rides ok though, no extra wobbles or vibrations.

It's things like this that make me happy that riding season in Alaska means "it's light outside"

Is it just me or does this bike need a Throttle Rocker? I haven't heard anyone else complain but my hand gets pretty tired after being on the highway for a while. I put one on from another bike and it seemed to help a lot.

Like a lot of people out there I'm not blessed with a 6' plus height, I'm just about 5'9", what makes riding my Terra sometimes a little difficult while coming to a stop, sliding to the left of the saddle to get my left foot flat on the ground.
The low center of gravity of the Terra makes that easy, but if you add camping gear for a week or two it will be a whole different story just balancing on one leg. A few years back while owning a Buell Ulysses, a bike that seemed to be only meant for rather tall people, I came across a company in my native Germany that sold lowering "links" for the Uly. Bought one and installed one, worked like a charm, could get both of my big toes on the ground :D.
The lowering part is the lower spring retainer of the rear Sachs shock and not the dog-bones. WWW.Mizu.de's part:

That lowered the bike in the rear by about 30mm, I slid the forks up in the triple tree about the same. Now I can touch the ground with the balls of my feet.:rofl

C'mon RE! You're the guy that successfully took the Terra where the rest of us fear to tread (at lest for a very long 60' wide "fear to tread") and came back to give us a world-class ride report!!

After that, valves should be a piece of cake!!

    Ha! We'll see.

That ride didn't go as smooth as possible, let's hope taking this Rotax apart is easier.

If the Husky is like the BMW, follow the throttle cables to the throttle housing on the left hand side of the engine.

There you will see two return springs on the throttle housing.

Look closely and you will see the two little hooks that hold the return springs on.

Unhook the outside spring and let it go, it just sits there quite happily and doesn't get caught or in the way.

Your throttle will now be about 50% easier to hold and turn.

    Nothing else to do. :clap

Excellent info, Cruz! I must check that out. I like a soft sprung throttle with little resistance. Comes from all my years riding Observed Trials, I reckon.

I don't have a cramping problem on long stretches of slab....with my Kaoko cruise lock installed. :D

Makes riding a lot more fun and you don't have to reposition your throttle hand all the time.

I got the other half completed…..yippee! [IMG]

The 1" offset kept them tucked in nicely. And I set the lower brace very tightly against the heat shield. I don't like my legs hitting any protrusions behind me.

All the edges are rounded off smooth too.

The crossover bridge took some contemplation….to make it mount properly, like I wanted .

The threaded holes in the subframe are very deep inside the plastic tail rack mount. AND the plastic rack surface is at a steep angle, not parallel to the threaded bolt holes. So, I cut two metal spacers very precisely which extend evenly a little distance above the plastic rack….

Then, I filed the surface parallel to the ground ( more or less). This really help level out the bridge and give it a solid mount against the subframe far below. It took some long strong bolts, to be certain…

And, I slipped on a tight fitting nylon spacer to fill the gap inside the steel spacer…..just because!

    Goes in like so:

Just need my rattle can of paint and some warmer weather to finish up this project. Because my "paint shop" consists of a wire shirt hanger suspended from a tree limb in the yard.

Super Nice Job High Five! I really like the crossover and thought about doing that too. Two top supports per side will hold up the world! Think about making a back loop though, to support that rear fender and keep it from shaking up and down, maybe cracking like a few have.

I didn't see an answer to this yet. IT might be something as simple as your inert gas bottle running low. What gas are you using or is it flux core? I'm a Lincoln man so I'm not familiar with the Hobart but you say it is little. I would guess that you exceeded the duty cycle and it is just asking for a rest. So I would just stop when that happens and just go smoke, or drink a mountain dew, wack off, whatever you do to pass the time, then come back and finish that bitch!

    Lookin' good!

I agree. The tail dong needs to be cut off or supported.

It could be the ground cable coming lose. Or possibly not using any nozzle gel.

You are using nozzle gel, right HF?
