That can vary from State to State here. The other downside is if you have insurance as an antique vehicle and they think you are using it as an everyday vehicle, they can cancel you. They could also refuse to honor your insurance.I don't know if I would want to be in a serious accident and have to argue it.
If you were on a club run or a road run ,I don't think it would be a problem. However you should read your policy.
A friend of mine has a 52 Black Shadow that he has put over 400,000 miles on.The AMA did a big write up on him.Unfortunately, his insurance company read it too.Since it was "antique" insurance or limited use:deal ,they canceled him:cry.
    Your results may vary...................

From what the tag agent told me, here in FL there is a slight reduction on tag fees. Other than that no restrictions - just the status symbol of having the blue license plate to let everyone know your ride is from the "good ole days" :thumb

Edit: On the insurance issue - for the 83 R80, the companies I've talked to simply wanted a formal appraisal to add comprehensive coverage onto the basic liability stuff. No problems with whether it was regularly ridden or not.

I want to say that was a Progressive quote. But your results may vary greatly from state to state. FL is back to being a No Fault state after some inattention by the state legislature for about 3 months.

After I compared all the differences between their quote and my regular company, GEICO, I decided to stay with Geico.

BTW, bike insurance in FL is biased against bikers because there is is no Personal Injury Protection (PIP) available as for car drivers. Make sure you have adequate protection against injuries.

That bike is a 1950 Sunbeam S8. It was a shaft drive 1950's tourer with a rubber mounted OHC inline (one behind the other) twin.
Not super fast, but reasonably comfortable and they were made for a number of years.

This one ws featured in the Guggenheim "Art of the Motorcycle" exhibit in Las Vegas a few years ago.

    Roadholder, I think that's an S7.

The S8's had 18 inch wheels. This bike has the 16 inch wheels used on the S7's.

I personally prefer the fatter look of the S7 models.

BTW, the flexible section of exhaust pipe is there to prevent manifold breakage due to the engine bouncing around in the rubber mounts.

Your home must have been a great place to grow up. Motorcycles were only a distant fantasy for me as a child. Wasn't until I had a job and money of my own that I was able to get a motorcycle.
