990 Adventure Seized rear top case nuts

I've just bought a top case for my 990 Adventure.
I went to fit it tonight and the nuts holding on the back plate are seized solid.
If I pull any harder they will definitely strip the allen head.
I've tried WD40 and heating and no change.

Any suggestions really welcome

Pb blaster or another good penetrating oil. Start there

Try a handheld impact driver, the kind you strike with a hammer. Mine is a 3/8" square drive that an allen socket is placed into. Be sure to grind or cut off only what is needed of the hex portion so no driving force is lost to twisting.

So you can spray them or/and heat them from underneath. The reason they get too difficult is they are sprayed with mud from the rear wheel. Try cleaning them with a wire brush

When you finally get them out - I suggest using Never-seeze on the threads instead of Loctite. Also on Chain adjuster bolts to prevent the same thing happening

Done it...soaked in WD40 overnight and used a more substantial allen key with handle.....thanks all

The Anti_seize is simply the best thing you can do for those bolts, any bolt that is steel going in AL for that matter should be treated with it.

The threads going into the tail of the frame are steel to steel and I use a drop of permatex blue there. However, the underside of those flat head socket cap screws need the anti-sieze where it goes steel to aluminum.
