Stopped in there yesterday, was good to be home. Although the place is newer, and does not YET have all the things on the wall etc it still felt right. Wasn't too crowded yesterday when I stopped in for lunch. Although the menu is a little pricey the cheese steak was great. Bathrooms clean and the campground looks well kept. All in all a great place to stop once again and Ill surely be back.

I camped there this weekend as well (all by my lonesome out on the Hot Chili Pepper Peninsula, in honour of Skert).

I commend the new owner on his dedication to preserving the motorcycle-focused atmosphere but also for *definitely* improving the facilities. The new bath house is sooooo much nicer, and the front porch is wider, offering more people a view of incoming crashes. :lol3

Had a visit this past Sunday the 22nd, stopped for lunch. We came up from Atlanta, and took 60 to get there. Holy cow I had no idea how fun that road was!

And that's the beauty of it.

Bob Wooldridge of BMW Motorcycles of Atlanta led an "easy-level" off-road ride on Saturday afternoon (for WAAAAY too many of us) and again on Sunday morning. His son Bobby took another group out Sunday morning for a "more spirited" off-road ride. That's about 4 hours worth of crumb trails (and helmet-hooting, teeth-clenching, cussing, frame-rattling, ass-skidding and feet-soaking in the stream crossing) on my GPS from NE to SW surrounding T.W.O.

Whether on asphalt or dirt, there's some damn good riding in every direction around T.W.O.

Went for a little ride today, and stopped by TWo today. Was there on Sunday but didn't walk around and I only snapped a pic or two, so I took a little closer look today.

It's time. I just saw where T.W.o.S. is opening weekend for the season. Wish I didn't have to work!

Over the years I met some really interesting people at TWO. These next 2 are from the 90's. These two where some of the original adventure riders, long before this forum existed or the long way around was filmed.

The first is a gal named Nikki. She was a migrant farm worker from England who saved her money for years and came to see America. She bought a round trip ticket to Florida with no date on the return flight. In Florida she bought a used Suzuki cruiser, loaded up her camping gear and headed off to see the US. Someone in Florida told her about TWO. That's were I met her. When she tried to pay her tab, Frank told her the guy in Florida had taken care of it.

I later got a letter and some pics from her. She made it to the west coast and back riding around 15,000 miles.

The second is Frank. He had done a lot of adventure riding in South America. Again, this was long before it became popular like today. He was so short he had to slide off the seat of his GS to put a foot down when he stopped.

    Another true adventure rider.

I met a lot of other fascinating people there over the years. I wish I had taken some pics.

Those photos sure bring back some memories and names forgotten! We are going to be there mid April. Wonder if they will be open.

    Stay well.
