[disclaimer: I may edit this first post from time to time depending on activity within the thread in the future]

There was and still is the "http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=626295" RI/CT Big Bike Drop-o-Rama thread but after a while many of us big bike riders got tired of crashing our 1/4 ton+ bikes in mud puddles, on rocky hill climbs, or in tight single track and having to haul our behemoths out of danger to a spot where they could be re-mounted. So we bought smaller and more trail oriented dual sport bikes. WR250's, DRZ400's, CRF250L's, DR/XR 650's, TW200's (you won't be left out!), DR350's, XR250's, etc, etc.. But we still followed the big bike oriented threads....

This thread is for people in Southern New England who want to ride rougher terrain than a bmw 1200GS could handle but aren't looking for the pace or harshness of a Netra enduro race.. What bike you're riding doesn't really matter as long as that's your mindset and your bike can handle it.. Newer trail riders with excessive motivation or experienced trail riders with some hesitation are probably our prime demographic..

Looks like I should say "subscribed", but that sounds official. As usual I'll be lurking until I'm educated.

PM me if you want to ride this Sunday in (almost) central CT. East Haddam, CT if you want to check the location.. I'll reply with some details..

I was thinking this Sunday would just be a few riders but there may be substantially more than a handfull now. That's fine. I just try to keep my local trail rides rather "low impact" if I can so as to not piss off the locals.... We'd be riding some of the stuff we rode on the second (harder) day of the Devils Hopyard Camp-n-ride as seen in this video but there would probably be a good deal more single track as well.

    <iframe src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/Bss37BII_bo?rel=0" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" width="640"></iframe>

That is assuming I have a decent work-around for a failed starter relay on my DRZ... If not I may be riding my F650 after all!
