What a banner day it has been for NED and all of us NEDHEADS! OUTSTANDING! From finishing another stage and having it in the books, to riding the extreme terrain, to Ned's "Dakar Moment", to cartwheelin' down the hill, to the open and heartfelt Rally RAIDio call in,................................ just when I thought it couldn't get much better than it's been for the last week and a half...................and we get today. Holy Cow! Thanks Ned! Atta Boy! Making us proud.
I'm sure that Ned would approve of you posting it... I imagine that he's got a similar story in his head, and hopefully, after he reaches the finish line and eventually gets back to the states... we can hear his story too. thanks for putting to words what most of us have thought / felt at one point or another.
Look how far these guys are leaning back with the bikes. That picture does not do justice for how steep that hill is....yikes.:eek1

It's not a rally story, but it is a motorcycling story that many of you can probably identify with. I hope you enjoy it. Ditto................it will change your life! Ride safe!
Its a pleasure sharing in this adventure. My wife and I have been listening to your Rally Raidio updates each evening (Thanks PackMule). Tremendous fun. Adding my support because you have come so far and we all want to see you complete this dream. Hold on to your superb attitude. Thanks for taking us along. Now, if we could have given you a spot tracker or something so the anxiety between checkpoints wouldnt be so bad. How many F5 keys have been broken so far? Maybe next year there can be an ADV video stream. Gopro + satellite phone uplink? Hopefully there will be a Dakar party / presentation when you get home. Go Ned.
... to say that I'm bald and shave my head. So I'm part of that contingent too! It's not coincidence that most of the smilies on here are bald
Stage 12 - reported to be one of the toughest (by Carleton Kirby) Plan the ride. Ride the plan. Smooth is fast. Stay on target. GO NED!!!!
Smugmug appears to be working again... Before After Like I said, I didn't have too far to go, but since its a first, hopefully it counts for something. GO NED!
I think all the guys shaving are a little premature.... REREAD what I posted - I had said if he finishes in top ten rookies -- FINISHES Though it IS nice to see you all showing how confident you are in his abilities! OH, and I hadn't considered the beard thing either....I guess a full beard with shaved head would look silly....guess my beard has to go as well....(to be continued)
I wonder if this shot is from the quadruple attention Ned was talking about in yesterdays call in? Def looks like cartwheel material to me.
Crap! I knew I was doing that wrong! http://www.vancouversun.com/5987689.bin?size=620x400s that's the image link anyway
