Touring is just travelling. 13,000 miles in a season is commendable.
Nice pics. Where was the group shot taken Trashcan?

Yesterday was a downer for me, as I put my SV away for the Winter. Know how you feel. :(

Yep today i had spare time so mixed up some stabil and gas, filled it up and took for a quick ride and it barely started from sitting so long. I have a 4 seasons room i dont use or heat and have been toying with the idea of sticking it in there.

I used Stabil, the first two years, on my GF's SVS. Both years, the carbs gummed up. I switched to Seafoam and haven't had a problem, since. Also, I put everything on Battery Tenders, anytime they're parked. Doing that got me 10yrs of use from the original battery. I replaced it with a Shorai and will see how long that lasts.

I've never used any stabilizers in any of my bikes, but I have heard from others that had issues getting their bike going in the spring after using stabil.
I've used seafoam on gunky carbs, but never tried it as a stabilizer. Is it any better than just normal gas if I run them every 3-4 weeks?
    Thanks

It definitely has some type of cleaning properties. If you believe what the "experts" say about today's gas going bad in a number of weeks, Seafoam can't hurt. However, it's expensive, so putting it in the tank "just because" doesn't seem worth it, to me. Your call, though.

I've had good luck thou come spring i suck out as much gas as possible and it gets a full tank of premium to run the stuff out,but yeah you can smell the stabil in the gas.
I pull my battery out over winter and store it on a piece of wood in the basement, its the original and yesterday the bike hadn't moved in over a month and was also 30* f so its gonna crank hard. I think the best was last spring i had just put the battery in and was going to start it when my buddy walked in and it barely hit the starter and it fired right up and he couldn't believe that..

I've had good luck with both Stabil and Seafoam. I keep my bike each Winter in a Friend's semi-heated work area between his garage and house. It's cold, but dry. It can be quickly heated if we need to work on the bikes too.
Battery Tender is only used the last few days before restarting, as he's paranoid about having electrical devices plugged in while he is away.
Bike usually fires right up. But this is the first season on a new (to me) motor. I am assuming it will be fine.

I came home, after a particularly bad electrical storm. All my Tenders were fried. I, now, have them hooked into a surge protector and into a single 15A circuit. Hopefully, that'll take care of any unwanted goings-on.

This is stupid but i won't keep the battery in my bike once its in my house but all summer its in my garage that would burn down my house just the same. I am alittle concerned thou with the gas fumes, my 4seasons room is seperated from my house by patio doors.
