Didn't find your bike, but you'll be happy to know that the seat from your old bike—along with the KDX it's attached to—is singing like a whippoorwill these days. It was finally warm enough to go out and play with the jetting today. Dropped the pilot two sizes, the main one size, fiddled with the air screw and result. It's got a nice kick right off idle and pulls strong all the way up. What a difference.

Inept told me once that it's a great learner bike because "It'll learn ya" :lol3

I knew it was set up a little fat, and with the fresh top end I was ok with that. Now that you got it screaming we'll need some video :nod

As I recall, yer KTM 200 also got nicknamed the "Learner Bike" at SweatFest II:p3rry

Either way, the KDX has got just enough power to get ya in a lotta trouble and hurt ya, really bad...although I still say yer 220 that got ripped off was the most user-friendly sweetheart of a dirtbike I've ever ridden. In my life. It was magic.:raabia

I was planning on buying that bike:bluduh

Thing is it's usable power that comes on in a predictable manner. It doesn't rip your arms off, it just kind of urges you to gas it because you'll have plenty of time to slow down for that (circular) corner coming up and you need to keep the front end light over those rocks anyway, right?

FWIW I set it up with a trials bike type power delivery in mind and did not follow the typical KDX tuning wisdom.

Its not a race bike, but I thought it worked perfect for a play bike.

Indeed it did work perfect...I like strong low-end grunt, and am willing to give up high-RPM peak HP to get it; in fact, the older I get, the more I dislike revving the berries out of a motor, I'd rather be able to short-shift and still maintain a semblance of acceleration. You set that motor up just the way I like 'em:thumb
