So I have an early to mid 80's K75 available to me for free. It has not been run in many years, so needs much work. On the plus side, it's free, the tank and other plastic has all been newly painted, and I think it really only needs an oil change and a new fuel pump to get going. I've never really considered them as attractive as the R bikes, so my interest is low unless I can customize it. I wouldn't mind doing something like this, depending on cost: http://www.pipeburn.com/home/2012/10/27/scott-halbleibs-bmw-k100rt-number-3.html I've always liked custom bikes with the black snowflake wheels for some reason, like this: http://garagecompany.com/ so, I'm torn. what kind of money do you think it would take to do something like the first pic with the K? Is it even worth it? Thanks for your thoughts!
I know a guy in San Francisco who is turning one in a K75GS with a CR500 fork etc. So everything is possible!!!
If miles are not past 75000 it's worth 2000$. You can put a 40 dollar mustang pump in it. If your close to fl I will give you 1500$
miles are about 25k I believe. I'm in CA, so not close. Can you tell me more about the fuel pump? I'd like to give it a go for $40 and hope the injectors are good.
The guy I know is Jason Wallace in San Francisco, he is on FB and here is the pic of the K75 with the CR fork (dunno bout the wheel).
Totally worth it. That could be done with parts lots of guys have hanging around. I have a CBR1000 front fork st up on my 85 K100RS with a 17" F2? wheel. That 17" really makes it turn in better. Also a 2001 R1100 Rear Wheel. (a bit fatter) And... Turbo.... Looks like this.
