I didn't need some of that stuff (Tire pressure) and I really don't need some of the stuff that the one I'm getting will be equipped with (I already have a GPS that I like).

I just wish they'd add the LED headlight to the bike as a stand alone option. :deal

    Option codes X192A (LED-Scheinwerfer) and X202A (Tagfahrlicht)

But as far as I know you can only get them (in europe) with the Dynamik paket or the dynamik-paket 2 (Q239A)

Sold as part of the package/paket. :deal

Do you have to code that would allow me to replace the GPS unit with just a 12v waterproof plug? :evil

Is it the same one I'd use for heated clothing or a separate plug?

Now is next to the dials.
No plug under seat. Some have added though (easy).

Well I asked him. Go and check the comments in the video, as he replied. Indeed he loved it.

Just back from my first service, dealer about 50 miles away. I am really enjoying this bike. Two weeks old today with roughly 900 miles. Dynamic is FUN!!!!!

They are supposed to not break easily though.
    Time will show of course.

Yet I consider it part of the cool factor of the bike (and of the distinct differences for someone to replace an older GS), so...
Of course different people have different priorities.

No problem mate, here is what he is saying:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
    1) His wife’s name is Lucia and he is cheating on her (with the R1200GS)<o:p></o:p>
    2) The bike has been provided by Iberian Moto Tours<o:p></o:p>
    3) He has absolutely no clue about motorcycles so we shouldn’t pay attention to his opinion<o:p></o:p>
    4) He has a 2010 R1200GS<o:p></o:p>
    5) The bike is becoming more Japanese (not clear if that is good or bad)<o:p></o:p>
    6) He is happy that turn signal controls are now on one side (Japanese style) rather than in two one on each side BMW-style<o:p></o:p>
    7) He also likes the new screen height regulation<o:p></o:p>
    8) The cooling radiators are too exposed, they need protection<o:p></o:p>
    9) Ride by wire is absolutely awesome and the best thing since sliced bread<o:p></o:p>
    10) He remembers us again that he knows nothing about bikes<o:p></o:p>
    11) He doesn’t like the weight distribution, he thinks it is now closer to a Japanese superbike than a true GS<o:p></o:p>
    12) It is obvious that the new bike weights less than the 2010 (he obviously hasn’t checked the specs)<o:p></o:p>
    13) unlike previous GSs the clutch now actually works, it is more Japanese<o:p></o:p>
    14) Suspension is harder than before, the bike is more road orientated<o:p></o:p>
    15) There is less space from peg to seat, he feels cramped<o:p></o:p>
    16) The bike is taller than the 2010 model<o:p></o:p>
    17) The bike is much better than previous models but is, at the same time, worse<o:p></o:p>
    18) He remembers us that he knows nothing and recommends us to read reviews from people who actually know what they are talking about.<o:p></o:p>
    19) He closes announcing that spring has arrived<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>

It is great fun, but I prefer the road setting an play with the suspension settings. Dynamic has only been used once on curvy french roads. :evil

Powerlet makes these plugs for BMW I believe and you can buy them directly from Powerlet. The fuse on that plug though is only 5 amps or 60 watts. That's not enough to run a heated jacket at high levels. Low probably.

Sandia BMW, our local dealer, installs an SAE battery tender plug directly to the battery and one can use that for heated gear with the correct adapter. Battery tender fuses are usually 15 amps or 180 watts.

Thank you for that bit of info. :thumb

    Good to know.
Mine will likely be dedicated to the GPS, and possibly for cell phone charging, and I'd certainly add the under seat plug for higher amp usage.

Why not get BMW own GPS that gets controlled from the handle bar?
