We were up there on KLR's in May of 2004 rented from Keith in Palmer. Rode up Hatcher Pass first night, and spent the night in one of the little A-frame rooms next to the mine in one of your pictures. Late May, and the pass was still snowed in. I had a notion to ride around the gate the next morning, but decided against it since we had ten days of riding ahead.

Next morning we rode up from the other side until we hit snow and turned around. Some day, I'll go back and ride the whole thing.

    Thanks for the memories.

I looked at your pictures this morning, then rode up to Snowbasin Ski Resort in northern Utah early this afternoon. This area is at about 7,000 feet and still looks to be quite a bit behind the Fall colors north of Anchorage. Unfortunately, it was overcast and the colors were somewhat muted.

Im to am a proud KLR owner and was curious what exhaust you have on yours. Im really not too pleased with the stock and I dont want one that makes my bike sound like a swarm of bees. So.... whatcha got?

    Thanks again, everyone. :D

Yes Jacqueline, wish you were here too.

Lovely photos, tuckerdt! Actually an overcast sky often enhances color. Very nice.

Hello and welcome adv n00b KLR AK! Did you notice my plate? Sorry buddy. That's my screen name over here: http://www.klr650.net/forums/
My exhaust is a Big Gun Evo X and I really like it a lot. It's really light weight and combined with a K&N air filter and a Dynojet carb kit seems to provide crisp throttle response thu the whole rev range. Mine is holding up really well compared to what I've heard of some first gen models tho it is blowing out some glass. :evil

    Later, folks. Mark H.

I went up Hatcher pass today. So did the other half of the population,
Busy day for the cagers. I followed 7 cars up the hill. Snooze! But it was beautiful up there.

Stopped by to see the Friar but the abby was dark.

Anyone riding anywhere fun on sunday?

Great pics of Hatcher Pass, I stayed in Palmer for a week helping build some walls for an airplane hanger during a bike trip up that way and we rode up to Hatcher, it was amazing, we hiked around and collected blueberries for pancakes. It was raining above us and below but not much where we parked to wander. Beutiful wild country!
