You spend the last month trying to figure out what is going to replace your shagged out 04, and realise there is NOTHING quite like it out there. Then you get excited about spending the next month and 5k or so rebuilding a 7 year old bike.
I had a dream last night that I was wheeling my 990 effortlessly like a trials bike. I'm injured and been off the bike for over a month and I'm starting to exhibit withdrawal symptoms.
Your buddy lets you ride his, and two weeks later you drop your savings on a 9 fiddy. Spend the next three weeks in the doghouse, read this thread, and realize that your screwed just like every other 950 owner, and dont care. I get giddy each time I walk past the damn thing. Until I read this thread I was worried there was something wrong with me.
You pull up to a crowd of bikes and everybody runs past the GSes to check out your 950. Including the GS owners. Hee hee. True story.
When you seriously look over the other bikes in this segment with an eye towards actually owning one of them, and after a couple weeks come to the conclusion that the KTM is still the king, and a whole lot more bike for the money.
When you realize you will always be labeled as a bad example for other motorcyclists due to the loud pipes and obscene wheelies.
Heck that be easy , went you change front and rear tire twice each oil change is more acurate iff you run 908 rear and 606 front
When you realize that you can have to much power on a metal road :eek1 And that if you change into 3rd gear during a wheelie that means your over the speed limit
when my wife says to start telling people KTM stands for K= kick ass T= tough M= machine i love her. ha-ha
When you talk to your ex-girlfriend and she asks "How is Katie (my 950 sm) doing? I really miss her"...Hey, what about me? Or when an older couple in their 80's are stopped at the light next to you and the woman rolls her window down and yells over to you "Hey, that looks like one really fun motorcycle!!"
