Mine was at Poker Creek in '05... taking both boys to Dawson for the weekend to show them around, and to pick up my broke sled from the Trek over the Top earlier in the spring. When we got to the border crossing, even though I had all the necessary paperwork, they held us until they called my wife here in town to verify that I had permission to take them out of the country. Sad state of affairs that we live in a society that needs that kind of screening... Oh for the good ol days when all you had to worry about was an Indian uprising... or the black plague... or leprosy!

No woods around the border crossing. When I was a Correctional Officer in Alabama, we had an inmate smuggle a derringer "well hidden" on his person. Took an x ray to find it.

You could just leave it at home. Hell, sometimes I can go weeks at a time without shootinÂ’ somebody.

Sure, that will work. Just remember that you must believe every answer you are given. After all, this is the Internet.

Excuse me, but what kind of a water head needs to bring a hand gun to Dawson or anywhere into Canada???????????

Hello, ain't nobody here packin to be afraid of and we are rather friendly, not having been raised under a reign of fear.

Forget the milepost, how about just some common sense!

What's the range on that sport bike? You better pack some with you and bring a hose to siphon.
There are a couple of places to gas up which have been mentioned.

The only chatter I've ever received has been entering back into the U.S., generally just smart asses.

My bike can do pretty good. 4.5 gal tank. Get about 135 miles per tank. And on my trip up the dalton, I brought a 2 gal jug.

You're going to need that 2 gallon jug and maybe some extra. Its about 240 miles to the first service station on the Dempster if you plan ondoing that. Otherwise your good to go with just your 4.5 gallon capacity
