One mistake is all it takes. How long does it take to realise you have to be wrong? 3-4 min maybe? Then he has to backtrack, and 6 minutes will run up very fast I guess.

Yes, Belaustegui with the 2-stroke ktm should be starting.

    Seems some problem for Verhoven.

Good recovery from Chaleco Lopez, also from Pizzolito (at least in forst part of the stage)

Me too but you start to nip after 25 minutes of wide open.

Already like it a lot! The colour-coding indicates positions moved up or down since last WP? Very cool.

This just been posted on the official Dakar app.

    Chaleco's back
Chile's Francisco López (KTM) has just beaten Cyril Despres at km*62. His time of 41'15" was 53" faster than the Frenchman's.

    Car update:

Carlos Sainz and co-driver Timo Gottschalk have won stage 2 of the 2013 Dakar in their Qatar buggy equipped with Toyo Tires Open Country M/TR tires. With two wins from the first two stages, Sainz leads the rally by 5 minutes and 5 seconds from the X-Raid Mini of 2012 winner Peterhansel.

From what I gather Carlos appealed and was given back time at the contended WP he couldn't unlock

It seems to indicate those with higher improvement (or worst performance), comapring to previous status

Has anyone seen the little Smart car bodied Polaris buggy yet? Forget his number, but looked interesting about a month ago.

    Awesome, Mischa! :clap

Question: what's the threshold for the red/green flagging?

Also just noted that the field expanded again. Thanks!
