The hitch will void the warranty (that's how I read it) so I waited until this November for mine to run out.

I got it on eBay (seller's userID: bsaohio). I am in no way affiliated with the seller, but this is the cheapest I found. He was very easy to work with. Cheers!

I don't know about it voiding the warranty, as the guy a couple doors down had his dealer installed, so says he.

    Anyhow, Hidden Hitch makes them.

I've got an '09, and there are many improvements over the first gen. I love it to death. We had a '96 Civic, and I hated it, but loved the reliability so much, that when it came time to get the wife a new car, a Fit it was. It's just too practical. Smooth, quiet ride they are not, but if you know that going in, you will love them. Despite reading that some don't find them comfy, I do. It is a huge improvement over the Civic in every way imaginable. I'm 6'3". Seats could go back a hair farther, but whatever.

Dirty as hell, winter boots on, Clifford remote stater, happy wife, since she doesn't have to go out to start it on cold mornings. The winter rims are just the generics, and I went with the little 14's, as they were cheaper, and the tires were much cheaper as well. Exactly the same OD as the 16's, due to the higher profile of the winter tires.

More info on the snows, please? :ear :ear

And for accessories, I got the rubber floor mats. What a choice. Keeps all the snow/slush/water in one place for it to melt and evaporate.

I think I need to do it by the summer to get bikes serviced. But it involves buying a trailer too, so we will see how generous Uncle Sam is on 4/15 :lol3

In the US, not necessarily, according to federal law.

Hitches may also be rated for way more capacity than the vehicle to which they are being attached. For good example, many hitches are rated for the max capacity trim level (big disc brakes, upgraded suspension, beefier drivetrain, etc.), but the base trim level wouldn't be able to handle nearly as much without more risk of troubles.

I wouldn't tow more than 1000lb with a car that had the curb weight, wheelbase, "frame", or brakes of the Fit. I also wouldn't load it with more than 100lb tongue weight.

Having 100K on an 07 than test driving a new '09 there are some improvements AND some cheaper items too - lots more plasticy interior pieces in the gen 2. Even the paddle shifters seem to be made of thinner plastic now :cry
So i went with the insight :evil

Yeah, I was never certain on the warranty so I waited (I have a wonderful neighbor who lets me borrow his pick-up whenever I find another must-have). We're using it to tow two scoots or our two CT90s; no where near 1000lb.

    Boo-yah!

Took one o' these for a test-drive tonight.

What a car! They used some smart design elements to allow this car to actually have rear passenger potential.

Do they make a roof rack for these things? Gotta check...

    ...otherwise, it's a strong contenda!
