Hi Jim, Thanks for the nice complements. I enjoy making the skidplates from my small shop here in Minnesota. I just recently finished making a new aluminum skidplate for the 650 V-Strom and have them ready for sale now. I also recently finished making a aluminum fatfoot for the Honda XR650L. They are also available for sale. I hope to have a DR650 coming over this weekend for a fatfoot. I should have them ready by the following week. I'm looking for a Buell Uly to make a fatfoot pattern from. If anyone in the LaCrosse WI area has one that they can donate some time from they would get the first unit for free. Thanks Ernie
Ernie, Check is in the mail. Can't wait. I'll post pics of before and after. I wonder how many beers it will take me?
Hey Lonestar, Be careful. Last time I got involved with a few beers at a friends place we wound up installing a Honda CX500 engine in a Bolens garden tractor. Never ceases to amaze me what inspiration has come from having a beer with a friend. Just for the record it's the nicest running lawn mower I've ever seen. He mows the lawn in the summer and plows the driveway in the winter. 2HE
One at most. I put Ernie's plates on my GSA a few weeks ago, it was a breeze. Everything fit EXACTLY. No holes just a little out of alignment as I've come to expect from so many aftermarket parts. Fit was exact. It was so easy it almost took the fun out of it!
Ernie, Just sent you an email with a few questions. I'd like one with the taller front for my 1200 GS. So it can protect the exhaust cross pipe. Nick
Hi Ernie, your skip plates are in Turkey now I've installed them this weekend, great stuff, good workmenship. Thanks.. Burak
Hi Guys, Once again, Thank you for the complements. It's really what inspires me to keep making them. Glad to hear that my first skidplate has arrived in Istanbul. Thanks for posting the picture Burak. It shows off the dimpled mounting points and I did'nt have a picture like that in my collection. I just finished another ten GS skidplate sets and got materials today for another twelve. I have a 650 V-Strom skidplate at powdercoat today. I'll post pictures when it gets back. Thanks again everyone. 2HE
Hi Wayne, I got your check in the mail today. I have your skidplates all boxed up ready to go. I'll take them over to the post office first thing Monday morning. Thanks and enjoy the skidplates. Ernie
I got some skidplates all packaged up headed for David in Texas. I'll walk them over to the post office tommorow. Hope the weather is better. We had a cold rain all day today. Ernie
Just got mine today, the powdercoat looks great. I'll be posting pics after the install this weekend.
Ernie, I recieved my skid plates today, really nice work, I will post pic's as soon as I have a chance to install them this week. Frontiersman.
Didn't think eyesight was something I'm having difficulties with in my middle years, but no matter how much I flip through the pages here I can't find what the terms are for purchase of these plates. What forms of payment do you accept, and how is that payment made? Btw, my poison is an '07 1200 GSA.
Hi Barista, I sent you a e-mail. Ernie Anyone wishing to purchase can reach me at dakotabeemer@hotmail.com I'm trying my best to keep skidplates on hand. I don't like backorders either. I just picked up more aluminum last night. I'm getting ready for rally season. Thanks again to all that have purchased skidplates form me in the past. I appreciate all the nice complements. 2HE
Hey 2HE, it's "Baterista," not "Barista." One makes music, the other makes espresso. And I don't make no espresso. Thanks for the reply, checking my email now.
