    The pits before the "storm"

After riding we enjoyed some trackside food as prepared by our renowned chef... none other than "6pak" himself. He has a old coleman stove (3 burner, very rare) which he starts around noon with a cheap potroast, chicken, oinions, potatoes, carrots and a bottle of Wishbone IItalion( he's from Mass and speaks funny) dressing and lets it cook for 4-5 hrs sendin a beutiful aroma across the pits which seems even more special when mixed with the smell of race gas and Castrol oil.... I'm hungry again just thinking about it... And a nice cold beer made it the end of a great day. or so we thought.

We all ate and had a beer and somewhat loaded the bikes up and the sky's opened up to a storm that had to drop a 1" of rain in 1/2 hr, we were all huddled under 6paks easy up until we were flooded up to our shins in water, thunder, lightning, I have to say I have never seen a rain like that in such a short period of time.

The ride home was in and out of the same weather so took a bit longer than it should have.

All in all a great day of riding, and looking forward to racing at Broome Tioga in Binghamton NY which is also a (former) national track in two weeks.

The Southwick national race is August 27th.

The series I race in is racing there August 6th and we have a private rental the day before on the 5th. 2 days in row at Southwick is tough on my 51 yr old body but am looking forward to it!

Oh shoot. That conflicts with the Indy MotoGP and I'm booked for it.

I might make the 6th, though. Save your ass for day two and I'll see you there!

This is the finish line jump with my brother and son in the pic, I paced it off and it was 50' from ridge to ridge. I was jumping 20' down the hill on my 89...so fun!

Next day clean up, everything was sandy and wet. worse than sex on a beach.
I am so shot today...exhausted... feel like I have a hangover and didn't drink... it's a good shot though...nothing like Southwick.

I'm with you. I just reached level 25 on MX vs ATV Alive and am now on the 450's. There is a track called Catapult Canyon and it is semi sandy and even on the 450's it's so relentless that my hands are killing me. I need a cold glass of wine and a nice long stretch on the couch.

I'm telling you the 450's are a different animal. you get one of those things pointed in the wrong direction at the wrong time and you can say goodnight Irene.

Flug, my son said he would play you on line and kick your buttt. I normally don't let him play against middle age men that spend to much time in the basement but am willing to make an exception in this case:D

he might want to be careful I'm getting a handle on the 450's now, was up past midnight riding. necks a little sore but its part of the deal. I figured out that seat bounce with the right stick and whoa nelly look out when you catch those jumps right. sometimes when everything is going right its like nirvana I'm getting so good. :D

I'm really hitting my stride on the 450's now, I can see what Chad Reed means about hitting his marks. Still having some trouble with arm pump but tell the kid he'd better be wearing his Joffa.
