Wow, That's a find! But I've learned in the past that once you guys get something on that island of yours you don't want to export it unless we pay off your national debt.
I do not like the beak on the 750 so decided to re adjust the look . I paid £400 for the bike 2 1/2 to 3 yrs ago and had the engine re con .. The rest was covered in black tar paint so cleaned and re painted . Use as a kind of rat bike for bad weather and it was different. Decided to motard it and got it to what it is now. Bought a DR 800 before Christmas and gecided to restore ok. I need tank panels for it . Seeing as this is going well I may start on the 750 again but a better tank/seat etc. The handling is good with pram wheels, turn on a sixpence, Pics of both bikes to come but dont wait up Nave , them pics are great ---- all that beach and sun , WOW!
There is other parts for sale for the doctor by the same person selling 800 carbies and 750 carbies new tank and front guard megamoto posted it just previous to this english ebay
There is also an ebay seller with DR crashbars, who says he has lots of DRBig stuff ready to list. Worth keeping an eye on. england2 - we have to get out to Devils Bridge for a DRBig photo-op
i`v just been out on the Tuono(hooligan). Battery on 750 dry so need new and 800 still not finished but will get at them . Devils sounds OK to me but with the better half (wife) being disabled I am sometimes limited to time . I play with a band during the season as well . I am in Blackburn. Another good run is over snakes to Shefield as my son is at Uni there. We get a brew at his as long as he gets some milk.
I'm sure we'll hook-up at some point; my g/f grew up near Darwen, and her sister still lives in Blackburn. You're probably 30 minutes away from me (M66 then punt across the Grane Road)
Did my (this year's) first run yesterday! 60 km. Handling on the snow was nice, since it's melting already and there's not much left. QUESTION: Does adjusting the jet needle affect's mixture @ 2250 RPM at all or is only to do with the idle mixture screw??? I understand that mainly the needle comes into the game at 3500 RPM and main jet beyond that (I have 117.5 + sebring exhaust), but I have quite lean mixture down at 2250 RPM. I adjusted the idle mixture from 2.5 turns out to I don't know... about 3.5 turns out for both carbs - got better, but still very nervous behaviour when accelerating at low rpm (gets better if i pull the choke). SO! My needle is in the centre position: should I adjust it richer or should I turn the Idle mixture screw like 5 turns out? Anyways everything above 3500 RPM is ok. Also I built a new and wider battery tray and now I have a 270 ampers of starting power with a maintenance free battery (Exide 80.- euros). The usual battery has 190 CCA. Bike has much more confidence now - in herself.
I think - try clip needle to go 1 position up (not sure if 750 stock needle allows that) and then try to adjust idle. I had to go 130 to 135 jet with mods I did...but then my airfilter is opened up too.... Do a run in 2nd gear and from about 4000 roll off trottle - it will be evident if you have it reach or lean, but generally I thin you need 1 size up jet and idle, just that. I know 750 runs much smaller jets than 800, but I guess you might end up needing new jet 1 size up and back up to normal on needle position...
BTW - did caliper arrived? I am interested to hear your opinion when you install it - shorter stroke by harder pull might do good to DR :)
