I saw this picture in the refugio on the mountain.
It told about the do and don't with helicopter rescue.
This one is a no brainer.......so to speak

I left picos and headed for Pamplona but I saw this beautiful beach and had to stop and dip my toes in the water
And I figured if the girls can go topless here, that I can go bottomless..........

I am starting to get lonely here
I might be flying back to Lima in a couple of weeks to see you know who (and meet the family:eek1)

Thanks for the posts - I am really enjoying your trip. Will the trip to Lima be a short one then back to the bike? or will you take the bike with you?
    Cheers and thanks again. Rob

The internet speed is too slow here to see the videos.
But when I can, I will check it out.
I started my run just right at the spot where the white circle is on the path.
So I hope to spot me
The problem is.......we are all wearing white and red
But look for my Rev'it pants......they should stand out in the crowd

I'm sure you must be exhausted with the non stop schedule you have had over the last year. I really enjoy the balance of riding, hiking, hot springing, wine tasting and romance in your blog. Last night, inspired by your wine tasting in Mendoza, I drank a 2010 Terrazas De Los Andes Gran Reserva Malbec which was quite good and I believe an excellent value.

Yours is an outstanding adventure! Thanks for sharing with us!:clap:clap:clap

Yes.......I have slowed the pace down a bit today.
For the first time in a very long time, I did pretty much nothing.
The two days before were pretty much sleepless.
Last night I slept thru the 3rd biggest electrical storm I have ever been in (and yes .....I am keeping track). So yes.....exhausted
Today has been kind of been a planning day for me.
I have been trying to set up appointments at some wineries in Bordeaux (they are kind of snobby like that and probably wouldn't like me just crashing the party the way I have been)
And I am trying to figure out where I am going now for the next month.
Here in Europe it is busy season and reservations are expected.
In South America, reservations are almost never needed.
And for my winging it style, the latter suits me better.

After the Bull Run, I stopped here for a little nap on the beach.
Not sure I was able to sleep with all the topless chicks around me
    LOL
But again it was a very nice beach proving that there are many. I think the beaches that Kathe and went to on the cruise were more noted for their cities and ports and not the beaches.
But I still like Tahiti better

    Bastille Day is tomorrow.
I am camping in this little town near the Spanish border. I don't know the name. Actually, I am not even sure where I am since I don't know any French and can't talk to anyone.
I hung out at the campground all day. I was bored and hungry so I rode in to town along the coast. There was a street fair going on with lots of people and loads of food booths set up.
Wine was one euro a cup (and tasted it).
But the food looked really good. Lots of calamari dishes.
    I pigged out
    Yum

I was not really sure what Bastille day was and why it is celebrated so I asked someone who could speak English.
I figured it was celebrated for some famous battle that the French actually didn't surrender or retreat from............LOL
If you are French and took offense to last comment then I have a joke for you......

Did you hear about the new 6 speed French tank that they came out with????
It has 6 speeds........1 forward and 5 reverse

Actually I am not picking on the French. I am going to make a point here.
You see, the French have this Bastille day to celebrate summer and life with good food and inexpensive drink. In the USA, we celebrate our victories of war.
In France, love and the human body are on display everywhere. In the US, Janet Jackson shows her nipple and it seemed like the world was coming to the end. And on US TV, it is ok to show shows where the world is ending with blood, guts and violence.

I don't know....maybe the French are right here.

But God damn they can be inefficient sometimes. Just trying to get some food at the street fair was proof enough of this. There were 20 people in line and 20 people working behind the counter.......10 of them were talking to others, 5 were just standing there and the other 5 didn't know what in the hell they were doing.
I can't speak more than 3 words of French, but I know math. Numbers are numbers in any language and I know when I am being short changed. Yeh, I held up the line and they had someone who could speak English come over to solve the issue. I wasn't budging until I got my 4 euro that they owed me.
In the end, I got my money. They probably said some dirty American jokes behind my back even though I was right

In conclusion, no country is perfect. We all have our differences and pecidillos. But by traveling, you understand this and become more tolerant of other cultures. Even if you don't agree with their way of doing things, by being more cosmopolitan, helps one appreciate our differences.
And with that, maybe we would have less wars and we can just have days off to celebrate things as simple as summer, good food and drinks and our friends and family.
but come on.......like the French need another day to take off with pay..........lol

Trust me.....I want to do that one too
But this a "world tour" not just one of Spain.
I love Spain but I need to see more of Europe.
    Summer season is short here

That is the other thing about traveling......
You can either dismiss or confirm stereotypes for yourself.

If certain stereotypes hold true, I would rather have US troops behind me than French troops. Not to say French troops are bad, I just think the Americans are better trained for making war.

But if I were to chose between making love with an American chick and a French chick.........this one is a no brainer........viva la France!!!!

It's all a matter of priorities......that was my point
For me.....I am a lover not a fighter

Insulting a country just on arrival is not the best way to be welcomed...
