Now that is an awesome little trailer. Now that we know what you can do you've obligated yourself to a full-length feature. :lol3

Matt is doing these? Nice job.

Now I want one of them damn things.

    :clap:clap

Wow, that was fucking awesome!! Good work. I am pretty jealous of your skills (in riding and in film).:D You should make a second trailer, then it can be like we are watching commercials on TV. This time slap a Rated R screen on there like at the movies. This film is rated restricted for language, mild violence and nudity!!:freaky:lol3

Was imovie the video software you used?

Woo Hoo :clap:clap:clap I knew you had it in you.

You guys are as good at the video as you are at ride reports. Of course I want more, more, more.

Haha, glad you guys liked the trailer. :lol3

Matt was just mucking around, but it turned out pretty nice, huh?

Aw, everyone is so into it, I hate to burst your bubble...but, there's no full length movie coming. Sorry.
(Um, you realize that these ride reports don't pay anything, right?)
That 54 second trailer represents hours of work.
    Seriously, though - iMovie '11.
It's all in the dramatic music and pacing...
With that program, you could probably make a gripping trailer about cleaning the fridge!

    Anyway.
We had a family reunion yesterday and we're going to a wedding today.
    Recap starts tomorrow.

It's not going to be all slick and polished, but we'll have the (edited) ride UP south park canyon.
Lots of gnarly bits, if you're into that...
(and if you aren't, why are you reading ADV?)

    see you in the morning!

    Hey Guys,
Well, there's going to be a slight delay for the Up South Park video.
It took hours to upload to youtube last night, and then the quality sucked!
    :becca
we have to try it another way. It's not right to have HD vid that looks like crap.
Matt's gonna work on it tonight.

In the meantime, here's a photo recap...

    Day 1: Monday - 101 miles
PSR - South Park Canyon - Middle Park - Rogers Pass - Pleasant Canyon - Ballarat - Minietta Rd - Minietta Mine Cabin - Lookout Mountain - Osborne Cabin - PSR

We started the day with larryboy'’s Seldom Seen Slim challenge, then continued on to South Park Canyon.

It’'s a little hard to spot the entrance - look for the small cairn on the right.

    I was pretty nervous.
Doing the Playboy loop backwards sounded fun at home, but it seemed like a stupid idea, now that we were heading up the rocks...

    Pretty view from the trail

I don't want to give it away (you have to watch the video), but I guess a few shots of the canyon won't hurt...

Woo - Playboy magazine! Matt’'s marking the waypoint.
We didn'’t actually check to see if it was still there,
but it looked like someone had made a quick u-turn at that spot...:brow
    (anyone know? was it found?}

Afterwards, we stopped at Briggs Cabin.
A couple of jeeps had just left and were taking their time getting around chicken corner.
It was a good time for a water break anyway, so we sat at the cabin for a while.

Neither one of us remembered seeing this target before. :scratch

I don'’t think I took a photo of the kitchen last time. Again, FOB impressed us with their love for the place.

    Okay, that'’s enough sitting around.
As we were getting ready to leave, Matt discovered that the GoPro hadn'’t been filming on our way up the canyon...

    :baldy

He was beyond pissed. Lots of ranting and angry riding - yay.
    Crossing the bridge.

    Riding along the cliff...

Approaching Chicken Corner - yes, Rob - we took the outside line. :nod :D

We both remembered the trail above chicken corner as being really tough.
Lots of thick rock and slippery descents (which would now be ascents).

    It wasn'’t bad.
Thick, slippery and hard to get traction - yes.

But not nearly as scary as I remembered.

As we approached Middle Park, we surprised some burros.
    Mama and her cute baby.

And then a little ways down the road, we found these guys

    Middle Park

We wanted to make sure that we made it to the striped butte overlook this time.

    We're some happy FFs! :D

    Those panos are so small.
    Here'’s Striped Butte, closer up.

BigWan and I were a little nervous about this next part...Okay, very nervous.
There was a steep hillclimb coming up.
Cjbiker had gone down it, and said it was the steepest thing he had ever seen.
Larryboy has done it and was worried about us, last time.

Steep hills are always a little dicey when we’re 2up, but uphills are the toughest.
We just weigh sooo much (1000lb or more, depending on luggage/extra gas), it's always a struggle.

The video covers this part of the hill - the steepest, loosest section.

    And, awaaaaay we go...

You might want to turn the sound down if you’'re at work or in public.
Matt was using the Muck word a lot - I thought we had cut most of them out, but I just heard at least one. Sorry!
We didn't think the camera would pick up so much of our conversation.
Didn't find out til we got home, actually. Whoops. :shog

It’'s HD, so you can set your player accordingly.

Hi Gale, glad you're still with us!! :wave

Can you believe we made it?? I barely can.:knary
Ok, just added "2up" to the clip title - it's hard to tell, huh? I don't talk a whole lot.
I guess the camera couldn't pick up my whimpering over matt's exuberance.:lol3

The HD "Up South Park" video is finalizing right now, then it should publish to youtube.
I'll be back to embed it, hopefully this evening.
I think it's going to take a few hours at least (huge file).
That's the problem with GoPro footage - these HD clip are ginormous. we can't do anything else while iMovie is going.

update- wow, it's saying 6 more hours! I can't even edit any photos until the video is done. not enough processor.
    well. :dunno
    see you tonight...

    Hootie Who?

You got that right ..... HOOTIE WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Here's a big HOOTIE WHOO .... to you two .... for doing the voodooo ..... that you do! :rofl

Just caught up to the end or your RR. :D

    Gracias!

That was some good clean fun that you two provided! :lol3

Well, there are at least 2 kettles at Teakettle Junct. now. I left mine there on the day after you were there ..... but I put my "Road Damage" sticker on the lonely blue one that someone else had left. :eek1 Hope that doesn't flock up my smother truckin karma! BTW, what's up with the pair of Sorels and the broken camp stove? It's not Pack Boot or Broken Camp Stove Junction. Some folks can't tell a shrine from a dumpster. :lol3

I think I saw you guys farting around over in the PSR campground on your second trip. Wish I'd of said hello now ..... didn't realize it was the " Wans".

I also rode right by the Playboy. Dang it! I could have used a short porn break about then! :lol3

Really enjoyed your RR, videos, dialogue, sense of humor, riding skills, etc. etc. :clap Hope to cross paths with you guys sometime. That would be nice.

    Ride safe Wans, Rob
