    dgr2,

How's the black holding up for you? The top picture looks like it was buffed a little too much, but maybe it's just the reflection?? The bottom picture looks awesome!

I had an orange one before, but going with black this time around since the dirt will not be the majority of the riding. I'm just hoping the black after many thousand miles will still look like it does in the showroom.

Bart Black bikes are tough to keep up to your level of detail just like black cars it takes alot more attention. I have a black 62 Pontiac, cadilac Escalde XLT and Ford F250 I spend a small fortune on car washes and my cars are still dirty all the time. Dust , water spots and just the polution in the Ca skies keeps them less than steller. A bike is even tougher. The price is worth it as black looks badass when clean and smooth

Bartkim, thats my black bike, dgr2 very kindly posted the photos ( many thanks dgr2) as I tried and failed many times. I'm very impressed with the quality of the paintwork, other than a few light scratches where my knees rub against the tank after 6k miles it still looks good. The top photo was taken the day after I picked it up but it was a little dirty from the slush on the roads.

I guess it was just the reflection of the snow? Anyway, I left out the word 'awesome' for the bottom picture (I went back and added it). Good to hear about the quality of the paint. I've had a few black bikes in the past and keep saying I'll never do black again, but damn they look good!

I'm really like way Flanny's turned out - very sharp! :thumb

Hey Rail, I just might catch you, I'm off to Daytona tommorrow! hoo hoo! I'm at 4,500 now add some 3,500 = 8,000 :thumb

Bartkim, the black paint look great after abuse, just shine with some silcone polish and the scratches disapear. I use Mutol silicone polish

The 640 has seen too much commuting lately ... have to get it out on some good trails again ... Greg, I know you're still down for the time being ... Tom?

I did a search for it (Motul shine and go)and found the best price and bought 10 cans. Should be around $6.99 per can.
I found a few sites for you

    http://www.kevinscycleracing.com/crbikecare.htm

    http://www.motul.com/uk/produits/moto/fourche/index.html

    http://www.triplecaution.us/products/ShineAndGo_8188.html

    http://www.motul.com.au/product_line_up/fork_brake_others/others13.html

I don't know what it'll do to the bike but it makes it look awfully purty. I keep a can with me for a quick shine if my buddys are late.
