Other than his rotating stock of child brides, the thing keeping Bernie alive is his love for being in the newspapers.

Neat, thank you. I'm glad they discussed now close the driver's ass is to the road, it's the first thing I noticed. Logical, but it had never occurred to me. Hitting bumps and going off road must wreck their backs. I was surprised that the steering column is made of carbon fiber. I hadn't thought of carbon fiber as having great torsional strength.

That led me to this series which is fascinating. Particularly the rapid prototyping (iirc video 2). Science fiction stuff :huh

I don't keep close tabs on each team, and I don't think anyone does it anymore but driveshafts have been made out of carbon before... its very adaptable

How they can tailor it to the specific forces all depends on the way it is woven and layered. As for driveshafts, titanium is most widely, if not exclusively used, but then the driver isn't putting out several hundred foot pounds of torque into the steering column.

Seems Anonymous has hacked the Canadian GP ticket site and released personal information on ticket buyers as a wierd way of supporting the student protesters. Not sure if anyone would really care that Claude Smith bought 2 grandstand tickets or how that information would put pressure on the Canadian gov't. :dunno

Dude, this is just childish on Anonymous' part. Completely un-related to the actual protest. You would think they would WANT folks there to see first hand their "point".

    Freaks.

The protest has made me change my motorcycle trip plans, not going into Canada. Not 'cause I am afraid, but I don't know the area and don't want to wind up in the middle of something unpleasant due to my ignorance.

shame you're not going. The area around Montreal isn't much from a bike riding point of view, but towards Quebec City & out on Gaspe it gets pretty nice.

Every time I start to write a post on Quebec, it gets too political. So I guess mum's the word! :lol3

Thanks. The change in fire safety has happened in my lifetime, and it's been miraculous. I'm continually amazed when hard wrecks produce little or no fire.
