Dang!!! I knew I forgot something. I'm screwed now! I have a spare helmet down here, I'll put it on. Thanks
Sometimes it's just nice to sit back and dream of warm days and future rides to be made.... or just to remember your last trip to Twin Peaks
Now that's the LIFE--- sitting around and drinking a cold one -- please wear all safety gear on the way back up to the house --your record on those trips is not topshelf!!
Looks like a lot more fun than me being drug around through every open store within a 50 miles radius to work on Christmas shopping with 2 know-it-all daughters...
Anyone ever try to re-waterproof their riding gear? if so what do you recommend? I really want new riding gear but funds just aren't there, so I want to try to retreat my Firstgear TPG suit and see if I can get it more waterproof. Almost bought a couple of cans at Dick's of Kiwi Camp Dry... Should I try this or scotchguard or what? Just curious if anyone had any recommendations...
I have never rewater proofed gear but I do treat my work boots every 6 months are so. I use some sore of silicone camp dry spray like that. Not that brand but it's probly the same thing. works good on them. but they are just leather, I have also used it on a tent worked for that to some degree.
I've used the kiwi but it's hard to make sure you get it we'll covered. I like the nikwax that you put in the washer and wash in. They say you can even waterproof jeans for a while if you do it but works best on material made to be waterproof. Works great until you crash and rip your jacket Sent from my space ship using Telepathy
Not sure what this product is..but it looks like it would do the job http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=IPM8OR6W6WE Lance
I've tried that as well as another brand that I got at walmart. They both work pretty well but clothing still leaks at the seams and it doesn't do much in a heavy down pour. It worked really well on my saddle bags and tent rain fly though.
Limited hours of Kings Point Ferry upset landowner http://www.wapt.com/news/central-mi...ner/-/9156946/23546014/-/1o89i7z/-/index.html Makes we want to schedule a ride to Kings Point Island... Tslaw? ?
Mud riding sucked too - see people in the background that didn't follow my lead or help me push my bike out. Same folks that cracked jokes when I was laying on the side of the road a half an hour later (keeping me awake and making sure I didn't go into shock).
My new soft top for my Jeep came in today. I think I need an extra set of hands to install it. Who would like to help me???
While we aren't too far off a riding gear conversation, does anyone know a person who can do alterations? I need some work done to my jacket at the sleeves? Being a waterproof jacket, there are layers and Velcro at the sleeves and all that a stuff that makes it too hard for me to do.
There is an alteration place on Old Canton Road next to Swanns Gun Shop. They have done alterations for us before with good results. I don't know about that type of Jacket but it would be worth asking.
Thank you! I figure, they can look at it and if they can't handle the fix, they'll tell me. It's the Firstgear Kathmandu jacket. the sleeves have a weird gusset that I need taken out.
