    Excellent! Nice to see!

World Enduro top 10 runner Hans Vogels (Yes, on a Husa) is making the move into rallyes for his Dakar 2014 campaign and using Sardinia to get used to the roadbook formats.

    I hope he does well!

As hopefolly Sjors van Heertum does, who finished 11th in last years Safari, he's trying to get more Rallye experience so ASO wont say 'No' to his 2014 Dakar bid!

They certainly haven't done Juan Carlos any favours that far down, let's hope he can improve his start position in the prologue otherwise it will be a big ask to get in the mix!

For this race, he is still running the +450 class so I believe the list is somewhat sorted by class.

Sooo... Is Juan Carlos riding a Speedbrain Honda (like THIS ONE) or a Jolly Racing Honda?

    Thanks Gaz.

I arrived last night from Scotland. Left the family there after flying over from Aus last week.

Riding with Rally Passion Team who have been great today.

Bike is good. I took it for a spin up in the rocky hills this morning and it feels great. Found the prologue track on the way back to Bivouac. It is a motorcross track about 2km long and deep sand. Had a go and managed to muddle my way around while try to not get run over by Ruben Faria. Shit he is quick!

Some news Juan Parero is riding for the Beta Team. Cyril is here on the Yamaha YZ 450. Paulo Concalves with Speedbrian and Helder with Honda.

I will try to give updates on anything I can over the week depending on Internet connections.

    Cheers

Brings back memories of last year, awesome rally. Have a good one Ben, enjoy it and keep us posted, will be watching your progress. Let the race come to you.

I hear you about Faria, I had to let him past on stage 9 of the Dakar this year in a section of switchbacks, he turned his bike so much quicker than me he'd cleared off after 2 turns :D

For Sardegna, Chavo is riding the Jolly Racing CRE500 in the over 450 class.

Vogels is fast enough, but I'd say his road book skills will need some more development, so far he has been following tracks I think. Good to see him up there though.

How nice it is to see Cyril and Mark turning up to the same race that isn't Dakar again...

What is interesting though is the way the results were structured, I hope today's start is based on all categories being grouped together by time and not the 450+ running after the 450, as this will be dangerous!

Larger capacity is more of a detriment in Sardinia. Not sure it is a big deal safety wise.

At the briefing. Coma 1, Cyril 2 & Botturi 3.

It was very wet & muddy today. Reminds me of riding in Melbourne in the winter.
