I was thinking of takng mine down to Home Depot (when I get it) and see if one of the foam filters for a shop vac would be the right size. That would make it kind of a twin air.
Just tying up a loose end here....... I took some photos of the cover that was being lifted off at speed. As the air that passes through the radiator it is isolated from the carbes I know that the shrouds that I made are not responsible for pushing air to the carbes so this is air traveling through the steering stem area putting pressure around the carbes. My answer to the popping cover was to bolt it down This is the cover on the seat side lifting and flexing its clip open. It takes some pressure to do that.

Got my CPR Rottweiler through CJ and installed it yesterday. I had to remove the SAS which was a PITA. Followed instructions in the HOW and was doing great until re-reading and noticing the Edit at the end. Had to remove the throttle bodies again to add the intake vent connection. Anyone tell me what purpose the intake vent connection serves, pressure balancing? Once you have the air box off there is lots of room to work and installing the Rottweiler is pretty straight forward. I was worried about water splashing up and heat coming off the engine. I made a prototype barrier under the Rottweiler base plate out of aluminum flashing. Put everything bad together and the bike started fine, no SAS FI faults. Looking straight down to see flashing in front of filter Once I get the flashing dialed in I use slightly thicker material and add heat shield. I'm also thinking about raising up the glovebox base about 1/4 inch. This would form a slot all the way around the glovebox mask to allow air in. Should work even with a tank bag.
I have a 2 into 1 with Akra with quiet insert. This ran fine with the stock map. I'll give that a try but will be learning how to use Tune ECU shortly.
I've update my other thread on the next batch. You can email CPR for a FI Map to try out based off there dyne testing. Something to try at least.
They only have a couple for the Superduke, secondary flies removed....I don't want to hurt this expensive motor...we need volunteers to take advantage of their 'mapping program' in SoCal
Damnit Craig, I need to save up for college and you keep releasing awesome stuff. In theory would a person be able to rejet with just removing the right tank with this airbox?
Nope- I meant that As soon as I get my kit I will put it to the test and see how she rolls. It does look that without the airbox it's doable, maybe someone with the kit installed can shed some light?
I'll be installing mine on Friday, followed by a trip to the Dyno on Saturday and then a trail ride on Sunday I guess i should fill you guys in with pics and stuff?
Hey, you've got the order wrong. Saturday trip to dyno. Three runs for base. Install new filter then three runs for average. Ride Sunday. Ship new Tractionater to Tahoeacr on Monday(free of course).
Baseline would be nice but we're under the gun for the MX 1000. I just want to get the jetting right for the new filter. What will be able to do is prove once and for all that the left side merge is better than the right side merge I have a pallet of HT's coming in next week.........
