Such bad news. I watched him race at the Idaho ISDE qualifier several times, he was a special talent.

Kurt was like a superhero. Seeing him show up at District races I think made everyone else feel cooler especially after his incredible showing at Dakar last year.....

Im totally devastated. I have no words at the moment. He was one of those guys that you think about while you're racing - be fast like Kurt, or what if Kurt was chasing me down - to try and be faster

Kurt was one of the riders on this planet that was able to raise the bar of what is possible on a motorcycle. He will be sorely missed.

I was watching the race and stepped away for dinner after seeing Team Honda finish 1st, physically. Couldn't figure out why Team KTM wasn't coming in. Didn't log on till this morning. WTF!
We will miss Kurt for a long time just like his fallen comrades. The sport has lost a "great" one.
My sincere condolences to his family, friends and employer. Godspeed Kurt.

RIP Kurt.....just finished the article in the AMA rag last night. Just can't believe it.....seems like we've been loosing some great ones lately.... Godspeed Brother....

Some news sources are still alleging the story about “booby-trap“.
Has this been confirmed or dismissed?

If anything like that happened than there is a criminal liability by someone and will be officially investigated.
