In a traditional Russian family, meal usually to prepare on home cuisine from natural products.
In excessive weight consumption of deeply processed tinned products and meal in fast food usually comes to an end.
    Though, change of times.

Sorry, to suggest that Russians are thin because of poverty is pretty ridiculous. I live in Moscow, which is very prosperous, and yet people are just as thin. While I can't say that Russians have a very healthy lifestyle, they must do something right, I guess the lack of twinkies, etc. plays a large role.

That's it, I'm definitely cancelling my trip now!! I could have kept my zombiphobia in check, but no twinkies? That's just cruel and unusual punishment right there. :lol3

I should have guessed. When you have zombies, twinkies get hard to find (ask Woody Harrelson).

Russians have tons of sweet pastries & candies. No twinkies that I remember seeing, but they have Snickers.

The russian kids arent fat, not because of poverty, actually, most of the people there seem to live rather well. Sure, there is poverty, we have poverty here in the US also.

They are not fat because they dont sit on their asses all day eating & playing video games. They walk everywhere, most play sports, they ride bikes, work in the gardens, etc.

    just my observations.

When I was in college at Penn State - a huge campus that everyone walked a ton within, and around town, I noticed the same when I visited other colleges that students used cars and buses more often.

Of course, the typical Penn Stater gets used to the increased metabolism, fails to adjust the diet when leaving college, and gains the weight later... :thumb

Late January in Cleveland - yep, this is one time I'm glad I'm not you. I lived up there in 2000-02 while working construction and let me tell ya...that lake effect weather sucks!
