Ive looked and looked but cant seem to find any OEM BMW seats for the 1971 model of the R75/5. Ive seen copies with the ridges and the 'two-level' style foam but none with the proper shape/silhouette of the SWB early 71 seats.

Are any of these still being manufactured other than seargent seats/etc? I know BMW Eurotech used to have them but it seems they went out of business a year ago.

    Anyone have any leads?

I would order from them but their photo of the two handle 70/71 seat is no good. Only shows it from top view and low resolution as well. Esp since it's overseas I wanna know for certain what Im getting looks right.

I've seen quite a few seats on 71 airheads around here in California that were clearly deformed. They were bulged outwards at the sides and generally looked wrong. Its made me paranoid a bit that some of them may have been bad repro seats. hah!

    Hi Biebs,

Im actually looking for the entire seat/pan/etc. I have the SWB seat but it is the incorrect seat with the single hand grab rail for the later year bikes.

I need to find a seat/pan that has the proper foam shape/etc before i can even use a cover such as that.

Ok there is a seat cover all you need is a good metal pan and the foam.

Sargent Cycle Products (seats) has period-correct seat covers and does custom seat reupholstering and may even have some ready-to-ship seats in stock. They do good work.

Has anybody here laid eyes or fanny on one of the motobins early /5 seats? Looks nice to me, and the price is a lot better than seibenrock's. I think anyway, what's the exchange these days?
